Q: Will this cap work with the goldenrod (596-5) fuel tank filter? i know it claims it works with 596 and 596-3/4. but the filters i use say 596-5.

Both this 570-3/4 fuel tank filter cap and the 570-1 fuel tank filter cap (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004RGXY7E) are compatible with all three Goldenrod fuel tank filter canisters- the 595-5 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002YQSDC), 596-5 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009WKRGQ), and 597-5 (https://www.dutton-lainson.com/proddetail.php?prod=56613). The 596 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BVX8ZW) and 596-3/4 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LKWZCFU) are the complete fuel tank filter units containing both the top caps and the canisters.

Q: Will this work with 3/4-16UNF filter thread?

No it is for 1” filter thread and 3/4” input and output threads.

Q: are the filter threads 1-14?

Thanks for your question! The threads on this Goldenrod 570-3/4 canister fuel tank filter top cap are 3/4"-14 NPT. We also have a canister fuel tank filter top cap with 1"-11 NPT pipe fittings available here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004RGXY7E. The thread on the bottom of these top caps that screws into the top of the canister filter itself is 1"-12 in diameter.
