What is it actually made of? I am finding that most fencing and "mesh" items now are sold with warnings of dangerous chemicals in the plastic/metal/etc over the "safe" level...have never seen this before on things until this year...seems nothing is safe. It's ok if it's only going around the outside of a garden but if it or the posts with it go into the soil in the garden...that defeats the purpose of planting your own food. Any thoughts on this?

Q: what is the diameter of each opening?

That depends on how far you stretch it out. I have new trees that I needed to protect the buds from the deer. When I wrapped it around i need to make sure the buds stayed inside so i couldnt stretch it very far. I love this stuff. It is easy to work with. Has plenty of ties. I would buy it again..

Hi, thanks for reaching out. The garden netting is specially adapted for bush/plant use in a number of ways. 1. The holes are slightly bigger than the pond and pool netting to allow for plant growth whilst still acting as a reliable protective animal barrier. 2. The size is indeed different: but the garden netting is much longer than it is wide. This allows the netting to stretch more lengthways which is useful for putting up a fencing boundary. 3. Zip tie accessories are included with the AlpineReach Garden Netting Kit for securing to support posts. However, both the Garden and Pond netting are made from our strong woven mesh netting and will be reliable for a variety of uses. Hope this helps.
