You get what you pay for
Overall, you’ll notice great reviews for this product. I used those great reviews to decide on these. I am a single dad who bought a home last year and needed to get everything for the kitchen. The first thing I did was unpack my utensils and dishes and put them in the dishwasher. I did notice some tarnishing on the matte black silverware, but nothing major. And I wouldn’t exactly say they are “black”. I guess it depends on lighting. They are dark, more like a charcoal or really dark grayish brown, if that makes any sense. After using the silverware, I hand washed it most of the time. We don’t use enough dishes in a day to really need the dishwasher (we use paper plates a lot). After hand washing, I would place them on my drying mat and usually leave them to air dry. I noticed an almost rust-like color spot or two on the silverware after drying. I washed it again by hand and the rust color spots did come off and overall still looked ok.So what I have learned from having these for a year now is that 1. You get what you pay for…I have two young boys and for my purposes, these work great. Occasionally, one ends up in the trash (they just toss everything in, lol) or one gets lost. But they work and it isn’t a big deal if the boys temporarily (or permanently) lose one. 2. They don’t look terrible. Yes, they will tarnish, yes, they will lose some color, and yes they will scratch, but they still function for what I need. After a while, I did start hand drying them after washing. I have soaked them overnight because my boys often put a bowl in the sink with a spoon in it then water gets in the bowl and the silverware sits in it until I wash them the following evening. I haven’t noticed this being a huge problem though.Look at the picture I posted. The set on the left is brand new, out of the box. The set on the right has been used and mostly hand washed for 1 year now. You can see some tarnishing, you can see color loss on the edges and scratches in the used set. But overall, they’re not that bad. Again, for my purposes, they work fine. I bought a second set, not long ago, because when I do have company over, we were having just enough silverware to go around and I wanted to have extra. So, for my purposes, I happily bought these again. If you’re looking for fancy or something showcase quality, these are not your best choice. But for practical, everyday use, they have worked for me just fine.

Garbage.
Color started flaking off after a couple washes. Very thin metal easy to bend. Went back to original utensils.

Trop beau
Juste un petit peu facile à tâcher mais ce nettoie parfaitement

Okay
I wouldn't use these for everyday cutlery. I'll only pull them out when company comes. They will tarnish over time and there are a few subtle imperfections but nothing drastic. They're beautiful through and a bit shinnier than I expected
