These Kagero books are always good. This is the first aircraft carrier of the Super drawings 3D series, an excellent aid to any model maker.

This is a really wonderful work for anyone especially interested in the larger IJN carriers. The drawings are exquisite. For modelers, it is a must have for detailing this beautiful ship. The only real problem I have with the book is the lack of the very interesting early rendition of this ship. It originally was a three deck carrier, and lessons learned from this iteration led to the development of this, for it's time, supremely modern carrier of the Second World War. Anyone interested in some wonderful CGI film renderings of IJN carriers might want to view "The Eternal Zero." This is a recent Japanese film of great depth concerning a pilot assigned to the Akagi, a very near sister ship of the Kaga. Watching those portions of the film regarding these carriers particularly at the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Battle of Midway, I came away with an even greater appreciation of this very fine book. The included schematics of the ship are a wonderful addition. I highly recommend this work.
