Q: Chimes five minutes early how can fix this?

Actually my Bedford clock arrived literally crushed beyond repair, so it was returned. Your question: the mechanism thinks the time is 5 minutes ahead of the minute hand. I would gently and slowly move the minute hand ahead five minutes but not during the period five minutes til the hour until five minutes after the hour. That is how I would coordinate the hand with the chime. See how it does at the next chiming time. You may have to remove clock battery for 5 minutes to adjust to proper time since you should not turn chiming clocks backwards to correct the time. You really screw things up doing that. Good luck.

No. It only chimes on the hour.
