Beadalon 49-Strand Bead Stringing Wire, 0.024-Inch, Satin Silver, 30-Feet

Really sturdy but soft wire that is coated. This wire will never be rusting or making marks because of it's soft coating. Bends and ties like a heavy string. Thin enough to bead small beads. Use crimping clam shells for necklace ends. I was very pleased how well this worked re-stringing an old necklace.

I trekked to my local name-brand craft shop for some of this and was appalled at the price. 49 strand wire (I am learning) is great to work with as it is more forgiving with "bends" in unwanted places. It costs more than other lesser strands, but it straightens well with nylon lined plier tool, very important for us rookies as well as pros! I bought here for about a dollar more, 30 feet of what my craft store was selling for 8 feet, plus the store's sales tax, plus gas for the 16 mile round trip. Same brand, same excellent quality and very quick shipping. Best I can say is I will keep a list going of what I would like to buy at the craft store (for sizing, color, etc.) when I am "in the area" to look, then head back home and order right here from home. You can't beat it!

This is a superior product! It is actually 49 itty bitty strands of steel bound together with a nice coating of what seems to be soft acrylic. I have tested the strength of this wire by literally hanging clothing on a long piece. A little sag but NO BREAKAGE! I really am not interested in using anything else.
