Very smooth and creamy.
OK, first off, I'm new to acrylic painting having used watercolor previously. I bought the Gesso to use on watercolor paper to them use acrylic on. Kind of a cheap way to practice or try things on w/o having to use canvas or boards.This stuff is so smooth and creamy you just want to play in it. I've used it straight from the jar for more texture or mixed with a little water to thin it. Can be used as white paint and covers well, though thinned it may require more coats

Another great Golden product!
I've been doing textured paintings so the Gesso goes onto canvas first. This product is excellent like everything Golden makes. I use Golden OPEN paints... best acrylics out there.

Doesn't cover well as a primer
Slightly disappointed the white gesso doesn't cover as well as a primer. I have to paint over several times to get the coverage I want.
