Works well if you know descant fingerings already
It builds on your knowledge of descant recorder fingering and builds on existing knowledge smoothly. So it works well for learning the new fingerings. But it could do with more to how to direct the air down the recorder more smoothly, because it’s quite hard to get a nice noise on the low notes.I’ve played descant for several years and wanted to learn the treble fingering. This book has finger diagrams, and shows you the notes needed for each piece but not always in advance of needing them (it assumes you can work some of them out from your knowledge of descant fingerings) - but they will be there somewhere. I would recommend this book for anyone teaching themselves the treble recorder, as long as they can play the descant or tenor recorder fairly well.

Good clear instruction book
Good book that starts at the basics and builds up in an easy to understand way with good clear examples. I would recommend this book for anyone starting to learn the recorder.

Training to play play treble for a Baroque orchestra after playing soprano and tenor, I'm finding this very basic and simple method a quick way of adapting to new fingering.
