Simple Activities For Toddlers: A Practical Play-At-Home Handbook For Parents

This handbook is an absolute treasure trove. For a non-crafty mum like me, it helps take a lot of the fear away. Everything is visual, with clear instructions and pictures. Each activity lists out the materials you’ll need and any preparation required. After the step-by-step instructions, each activity has a section detailing the skillset your child will learn by doing the activity, and also a vocabulary section which gives a guide to the vocab you can introduce during the play. This book really is a practical play-at-home handbook for parents. I recommend it for EYFS and KS1 and especially if your child has to take in a craft to school and you’re struggling for ideas!

I love this book. It’s full of simple but clever ideas for hands on learning activities for toddlers and young children. I love that the activities can easily be adapted according to the age or ability of your child. Many activities have a ‘another way to play’ suggestion which I find helpful. The photography is very natural which I like. I love that the activities don’t require you to buy special materials or tools, you can use what you have in your home. It’s a down to earth, practical book bursting with a wide variety of engaging activities to help your child develop in so many ways.

This beautiful book was a present for a close friend who has a young child. She opened it and said 'oh god this makes it so easy to do'.I love the simplicity of this high quality printed book. The pages are thick enough you could spill paint on them and it would withstand it. You can turn to any page and there is a fun and interesting activity staring back at you. All the work has been done for you by the author who is clearly very much in love with what she does and these are clearly tried n tested activities. This can been seen throughout the book in all the photos.Easy instructions, a list of what's needed and most of the time you have it within reach. I especially love the exercises that encourage being out doors and the musical ones (I'm a professional musician and vocal coach so I'm biast!). This really is quite a special book, because it reignites the true meaning of play and learning... That with some twigs and some leaves, some imagination and guidance, you can create anything!

I had heard many good things about this book before I ordered it. Wow! There are so many things to do! The photographs are great and they really show that these activities are actually achievable with household items. The amount of thought that has gone into each page shines through and you can feel the genuine love bursting out! It has really helped me spend quality time with my child. This book will provide lots of fun page after page! It really is out of this world!

An excellent collection of engaging ideas that require very little prep to get started. The superb photography both helps to understand what to do, while also lending authenticity to these clearly tried and tested activities.

This book is crammed full of fantastic ideas for little ones. We love the tinker tray idea and have great fun with the endless opportunities it gives. This one really grows with your children.As an ex-teacher I can vouch for the value of all the activities and the fun level is just as high.Highly recommend for anyone with pre-school aged children.

Looks good but my granddaughter of 18 months is a bit too young for this.

This book was excellent. Loved reading it. It actually helped a lot in understanding my twin boys a lot better. Highly recommend it.

I got this book for my 2 year old grandson as he is at home and is very active. Always looking for mischief. The pandemic really used up all our activity resources very quickly as my daughter works at home. With this book she has lots of simple activities using stuff she already have in her pantry that’s really fun. So now my daughter plans ahead what activities the nanny does based on supplies in the pantry or the closets. It’s a god sent book. Most importantly my grandson loves it and is thriving.

I was so excited to receive this book! As an educator and mom, Lisa was a great source of ideas for simple toddler activities that we started during the COVID-19 lockdown and continued when my son, now 3, returned to school. As a working mom, I love the simple play-based activities that I can set up using things from home, like recyclables or easy craft supplies. The book is high-quality, with easy instructions and great photos. I went through the whole book today and dog-eared all the activities we want to try soon - a lot of pages! We're a bilingual household, the vocabulary suggestions for each activity were great as way to strengthen my son's English skills, so would be great in other households where the kids are trying to learn English. There's a range of activities and they are categorized by learning themes. We'll be incorporating some of the STEAM, Music, Upcycled Art, and Emotions Toolkit activities over Easter Break! Highly recommended and will purchase as gifts for friends with toddlers!

A great book. So many ideas that are easy to do, but also can be done using things around the house or recycling items. The activities are also clearly laid out and linked to developmental outcomes.

My four year old loves looking through Simple activities for Toddlers and choosing our daily activity.The pictures are great and the instructions are easy to follow. All activities can be extended to challenge your child.The authors has a background in primary education so you can trust these activities are fun and educational.

If you’re at home with your toddler and unsure how to keep them occupied, this is the book for you. Lisa’s book is well organized, color coded, detailed without being too wordy, and has so many beautiful pictures to boot. It even includes play recipes and suggestions of where to shop. Honestly, it’s FANTASTIC! As an educator myself, I value this tremendously as a resource for anyone with a toddler.
