Safety Grater, Chrome Plated, 5-3/8" X 8-3/4" by Stanton

I had been using this same grater that was my mother's that was probably 50 years old! The wires finally broke and it never dawned on me that they still made this product; so I didn't think to look to replace it. I was missing it so much I went on Amazon and of course with their great search engine I found it. It's perfect for egg salad and tuna salad. I love it! Great quality - works perfectly.

Love this grater! My grandma had a similar one when I was a kid that she used when making potato pancakes. I had tried making them myself with various other graters but none get the consistency right like a square grater. The grater seems sturdy and is not any sharper or duller than I remember the one in my grandma's kitchen being. I would recommend if you want to make potato pancakes.

I haven't seen one of these graters in over 25+ years. When I got married 49 years ago, these were so easy to buy. Not any more. This greater is the BEST. My knuckles never bleed. This is just my favorite kitchen tool. It also lasts a long time!

I’ve had one of these for 50 years and wanted to get one for my daughter because they come in so handy. I didn’t know what it was called so it took me forever to find it. It works perfectly!

When I was growing up, I had a version of this made by Acme. This Stanton one looks similar but the rows are a bit uneven and it's not nearly as well made. Also they take the "safety" part more literally since the wires are more rounded. My older one had a bit more of a bite to it and worked better. I don't think I would have gotten injured with the old one but don't think it would have been impossible. The quality problems are likely more aesthetic than anything else, and it's not worth returning over.

This is the same safety grater I used as a kid. Great for crumbling hays boiled eggs, grating onions and potatoes, bananas and avocados. Love that kids can help cook and be safe.

It has a nice fine grate to it. However it’s not as sturdy as I would have liked and it makes grating up stuff a little difficult. I’ve tried onions, potatoes and cheese. You cannot finish grating anything.

I just this grater for my food photography and it’s so cute as a small cooling rack. Also works wonderfully to grated cheese.

I bought this with the intent of making Acadian Poutine Rappe. To make poutine Rappe I need to grate 1/2 a bag of raw potato to mix with the other 1/2 bag cooked potato. There is NO WAY this grater will grate raw potatoes! I feel so RIPPED OFF!!|! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! This thing is in no way a grater. Crazy. Do Not Buy This.
