I am a firm believer that kids should be kids. I don’t need to know who you choose to sleep with and neither does my child. Accomplishments and merits have nothing to do with your sexual orientation. This book is being returned because I feel it is trying to push a narrative that doesn’t belong in a child’s book.

I pre-ordered to ensure my white family and son can see the amazing things black women have done. I grew up with not much and had no women role models of any kind (had no idea Grace Hopper conference existed until I was 40!)Thank you to the reviewer that said how can someone who needs it, afford it? I'm going to go donate it to black girls that need this more than us. <3

So inspiring. There are many women I never knew about who were incredibly outstanding. I love books and I love learning. There was limited representation for girls that looked like me growing up so I try to buy inspirational books about black girls and women for my nieces and even myself. I also love that Afrolatinas like Susana Baca were also added to this book as they are just as important to black history as they are to Latin American history.

My granddaughter who is 11 years of age love this book. She was inspired with the accomplishments of the characters and now has a can do attitude!

This was a gift for 8 yr old granddaughter. Felt this provided her with a valuable resource of women of color to read about and research further if interested.

My daughter is both black and Hispanic we try to get her books to learn about both sides. She's a serious reader and LOVES books about real people! This was a gift for her and she absolutely loved it

Such a delight to find this product. My daughter loves it. It is a good conversation starter. We read together as night stories, but she also loves exploring herself and proudly shares her knowledge with others. Language is elaborate but good to read for a 8 year old. Highly recommend!
