HIPA Air Filter Tune Up Kit for Mantis Tiller 7222 7222E 7222M 7225 7230 7240 7920 7924 Cultivator C1U-K82 with Primer Bulb Fuel Line Spark Plug Repower Kit

I have a 27 year old Mantis Tiller that hasn't been used in 15 years and the reason I stopped using it was because I struggle too much trying to start the thing. After watching a YouTube video, I tackled this repair myself instead of taking it to a shop and dropping big bucks into such an old machine. With the reasonable price of this kit, if I failed to succeed in getting it running, I figured I didn't have much to lose. Well, it was so easy changing out the carburetor and fuel lines. I'm a 67 year old woman that has never had good luck with gas engines and had my doubts that my efforts would pay off with this attempt at getting it running again. But... it starts now with the greatest of ease and I've used it multiple times since doing this repair. I recommend this product.

My Mantis tiller is a model 7222 with the SV-5C engine. Everything pictured is correct, except the vent and return lines are longer and both are black. A clear hose is not required as the clear primer bulbs allow you to monitor fuel level. The new fuel lines and grommet all fit perfectly and cured a gas leak at the tank. The primer bulb fit perfectly replacing a ruptured bulb. I did not try the carb gaskets as mine were fine.1 year update: I have not used the tiller since February and now it is July and I found 2 of the 3 hoses rotten between the tank and carb. The grommet is also leaking. Reducing this kit to 1 star.

I bought this because I needed a new primer bulb but decided to pay a little more and get this one with the fuel line assembly as well. The fuel line assembly was horrible. I can't tell you what was wrong with it...only that when I replaced it with a different one the tiller worked. When I tried using the one included with this, it was starving for fuel and kept cutting out. Spend a few dollars more and get a good one.

IF you own a mantis, you need to keep this convenient pack on hand. Filters always get dirty and who knows when a gas line will wear out. And if you forget where each line goes adhere to the following: The line closest to the primer bulb is simply the return line back to the tank. The line with the clunk filter goes to the bottom of the carburetor. And the vent tube line stands on its own. The plug the lines go through fits tight in the tank, like it should, but with a little oil and with the help of a small screw driver, and diligent care, it will fit.

After contacting my lawn and garden center and getting a quote for doing a tuneup on the Mantis, I realize that paying $80 was out of the question. For just a few bucks I was able to add the new fuel line new breather and spark plug with no issue whatsoever. The only problem I had, was my carburetor was bad so I had to order a carburetor. Other than that, this kit delivers.

Half of the parts were not usable on my machine even though the write up says they are. The hoses and fuel filter were not usable as they would not fit into the holes of the machine. I do have one of the very first Mantis units produced so be careful if your order this assemtly.

Once hubby replaced all these parts onto our tiller it started right up. Was easy to install all parts. We had not done a PM on our tiller in a few years so wasn’t sure if this would fix our problems but it did and we our back make more flower gardens.

The spark plug did not work the first time around. I had a broken spark plug but could still get my tiller to start. After replacing the spark plug with this new one... I cannot get the tiller to start at all. I have to purchase another spark plug and hope it works. The Air Filters are fine.
