My large pond (30ft x 10ft x 5ft deep) was out of balance and my large 30-yr-old koi were dying, sometimes two a day. I put this white filter with the black coarse one in place of existing foams and they are doing a great job of clearing the sludge, although I did have to clean them daily to start with. I have also put in pond balancer, so it is not just down to the filters, but they were clearing the water before the balancer was added. The filter pads stand up to pressure washer treatment well and the only downside is the expense. If if keeps working it will be worth it.

This works great in our oversize pond skimmer. It is thick and somewhat challenging to install and remove around the pump. It was easy to cut into shape needed and I only need to remove and clean every 3-5 days. Appreciate that it is 20 inches wide as most pad material, even in rolls, is only 12 inches. * Recommend and enjoy your pond! bjp

Like someone else said, it is a very good filter but if your pond has an algae or very dirty problem , you will be cleaning it from every day to twice a week. I have a constant algae problem as my pond gets 10 hours a day sun. I have used 2 filters for a whole year with constant hose cleaning and beating against a grate to get the stuff off and they are still usable. They just eventually get a layer of grime or dirt in the middle that mostly can't be removed. I am going to try a pressure washer on the old ones this summer.... Maybe a lesser density pre would help.

Easy to cut, easy to use

I have this paired with the black larger mesh filter and it works great. Easy to clean and appears very durable.
