Rush release ?
I have to agree with other reviewers here that book suffers from comparison with the recently published " Bruce" and "Springsteen" which are fully fledged and researched biographies and well worth the read. This book is not designed to give the full story but falls short on so many points. The bite sized chunks of information are often pithy and in many cases badly written, but worst of all are frequently wrong. The book feels like an authors research notes which would be fleshed out and checked later, but instead they have been rush released to cash in on the Boss's currently high profile. A closer comparison would be the excellent " A to E Street" book, available through amazon, which deals with all things Bruce and E Street in an entertaining and thorough way.I have over 30 Springsteen related books and reviewed many here, but I seriously doubt if I will need to dip into this copy again.

Lowdown on the Boss list
By adding the subtitle 'All That's Left To Know About The Boss' the author has given himself a mountain to climb. Much of what's included in the 400 pages on offer here has been well documented, particularly in the more eloquent biographies. Whilst Mr Luerssen doesn't set out to add to the spate of recent heavyweight Boss publications (see Dolan, Carlin and the masterful Clinton Heylin), the short, punchy paragraphs rarely rise above the mildly interesting. Worst of all, however is the fact that this volume appears to have been rush released without appropriate quality control. The fact that two written comments from the proof reader are included in the text (on pages 391 and 414) rather gives the game away, which is surprising since the number of typographical errors which remain would suggest that a proof reader hadn't been within a country mile of the manuscript. If you want a great new Boss book for Christmas, this isn't it and if you've got a shelf full already, think carefully before adding this one.

This book combines information that is easily found in other places, namely on the Internet. There is no indication of new material or independent reporting.A major flaw is the chapters that are out of sequence. The book is in chronological sequence (staring with his birth in Freehold.). It goes on to discuss the records with uninspiring track-by-track descriptions.HOWEVER it has the BUSA tour before Nebraska was released! The books seems to take a helter-skelter approach after that. There are also some minor fact issues. It says The Power Plant was a former cathedral, which accounts for its acoustics. However, the company's Wikipedia page says it used to be (get this) a power plant.I doubt I will invest more time reading the book and will likely donate it to the library book sale or eBay.I have no issues with the seller. The book arrived as advertised.
