Alpaca Land, Handmade Ecuadorean Alpaca Wool Blankets/Throws (Dark Brown Stripe)

Just opened it and laid it out in my hammock, yes I rigged up a hammock in my bedroom, (good for bad back problems) and my first impression are as follows: This blanket is so soft I’m in love with this thing. It’s bright and colorful. I like having the room cold and put a warm blanket on, but in a hammock a heavy blanket can be uncomfortable. This blanket is lightweight and warm. The vent is blowing right on me and I’m cozy under this thing. I will be getting more.

Very soft texture. Thin enough for a cozy wrap. Warm but not too hot. Beautiful colors and design. Wish I had an excuse to buy more. Great price.

I recently bought a pack of alpaca wool socks and was blown away by their warmth and softness. So when I had been looking at wool blankets I got the idea that I should get one made from alpaca and I am happy that I did.It is really surprising the kind of warmth something this light and thin can provide. It brings a warmth in it's own special way compared to any other blanket I've ever used.I've seen a few reviewers who where surprised and disappointed to learn that this alpaca wool is fuzzy. It's a natural material made out of a bunch of hair - yes, it is hairy. This isn't like finely woven merino wool that has been strung into a tiny thread. It is hard from most of the photos to tell just how fuzzy/linty/hairy this thing is so I took one hoping to capture that quality so people can see it. I haven't really noticed it shedding though, just the blanket itself is really fuzzy with alpaca hair. I personally don't mind it, just pointing it out since it seemed many people were surprised by this.I don't know that I will risk putting this in the washing machine or dryer, I definitely wouldn't just throw it in with everything else. What I've read recommends hand washing alpaca which I think would be appropriate for this material given it's somewhat delicate construction.That brings me to my last point. My cat loves this blanket. Wherever I put it I soon find my cat on top. And with it being hand wash only its not like I want her getting it too dirty too quickly. Just wanted to point out that you may have to store it, or otherwise fight your cats to use it because my cat goes crazy for it.

Given as gift and my wife loves it. Soft, warm and beautiful! The colors (which the picture doesn’t do justice) are gorgeous and so vivid. It feels light but warm and is well made. Very happy with this blanket!!!

Such a soft, beautiful blanket. My husband is super picky about everything. As soon as I took it out of the box, he immediately liked and wanted this blanket. So I’ve ordered another one, so we will both have one. High quality materials and workmanship. Recommend!
