Much better than Lenscoat or other offerings. The ends of each piece are seamed and sewn, so no fraying. Nice snug fit. Easy to install even though the instructions are in Chinese. All of the pieces are numbered and the pictures are self explanatory.I'm guessing people who are giving this 1 star because of the fit didn't bother to use the cellophane piece included for sliding the segments into place.Pricey, but worth it. I also have one of these on a Canon EF 400mm F4

This cover was very hard to put on - my fingers / hands ached the rest of the day. The instructions are in Chinese so if there were any tips about getting the separate parts onto the camera, I couldn't read them, had to just rely on pics for which piece went where. Make sure you put the piece with the cutout for reading focal length on the right way the first time (oops).I was disappointed that the piece that goes over the extended zoom is velcro-closure and doesn't let the lens retract. I couldn't tell from the photos that it forces the lens to be fully extended (at 500 mm) when on. I have it on but attached a bit loosely so I can at least retract the lens partway - it kinda defeats the purpose of having a zoom if you have to stay at 500mm all the time.Overall though, it does fit well (and very snugly), the controls all work well (control ring, focus ring, zoom), the little hatch on the hood is accessible, and I am less worried about getting sunscreen / dirt / whatever all over the light-colored lens. Maybe the birds won't be as scared of it either.

A snug fit as it has to be so the cover doesn't come loose while in the field. But with the snugness comes a challenge to fit the various pieces onto the lens compounded by an instruction sheet written all in CHINESE and incomprehensible to anyone not fluent in the language - follow the pictures and hope it works!The barrel protection necessitates the lens being in the full extended mode all the time which is not feasible. So it's a reasonable fit but a far cry from ideal. Nowhere is it explicitly stated that it only fits on a fully extended lens which is a material omission. And the incomprehensible guide to installation is a real downer!

Product well made and functional for the purpose for which it was conceived.

I’ve owned several large lens covers, mostly because the metal gets very cold in the winter and the neoprene sleeves help. I bought this for a new RF 100-500 Canon Lens and ended up taking most of the parts off. First getting the section that was supposed to fit on the telescopic barrel is almost impossible to get on even using the cellophane they give you. After month of fighting with the ring that fits over the Autofocus constantly sliding over the switches, I finally removed that as well. Now most of the parts are sitting in the box it was shipped in. I’d return if it wasn’t outside the return window.

I came so close to returning this piece of crap. The instructions are in Chinese, so you have to rely on the numbers on the instructions (some of the pieces are numbered as well). The instructions have your put the pieces on in a very backwards way and it makes it VERY DIFFICULT if nearly impossible to put on. It was a STRUGGLE and very frustrating!! I would not recommend this product and would never purchase again.

I know several people complained about this product being difficult to put on, but I didn't think it was that bad. If anything, I wanted something that fits snug on my very expensive lens for protection. Yeah, the instructions are in Chinese but there are photos and each cover is numbered so it's not difficult to figure out how to understand. If I can do it, so can anyone. Great product and highly recommend.
