1" X 8" Post for Module Tool Rest System

This post is solid and fit perfectly ordered with the NOVA 9092 Large Bowl Rest, works fine. So you will have to cut down the post to fit your lathe, I had to cut about an inch or so off. I new that going in so it wasn't a big deal. I do have a small 6" cut off saw, so it was easy. You could use a hacksaw but it would take a while.

Unlike the Nova 5” post, this one fits my Laguna Revo 1836 lathe perfectly. The 5” post is just ever-so-slightly oversize to fit. But this one is perfect. However, I did find that the 8” length was too long - it extended below the banjo, so I couldn’t get the tool rest close enough to my workpiece. So I took a hacksaw and cut it off to around 5” long. It took about 20 minutes to do, including a couple rest stops for my arms. Then a few seconds at the grinder to smooth out the rough edges where I cut it off and I’m in business. And the price of the 8” post isn’t any more than the 5” post. So I’m happy. So much so that I ordered another 8” post.

This is the size I needed so my only question was quality. It's excellent. I have already ordered a second one. Great fit and feel on attachments. Bought 4 different ones--all work great.

Husband said this is just what he needed, he found the construction very stable and fits perfectly.

half the bad reviews are because the post is "to long." So, because your to inept to order the right length, it's somehow the manufacturer's fault. Yes, it was about an inch to long for my nova galaxy, I expected to have to shorten it, not the manufacturer's fault.Ok, my two cents, the plating they gave it to give it the shiny, finished look made it ever so slightly to big to go in the hole. Micrometer measured 5 thousandths bigger than the post that came with my nova galaxy. 2 minutes on my metal lathe with some Emery cloth, sanded most the plating off, and it worked fine.

it was well made.personally i should have gotten the shorter version, but that was my fault, not the product. so no stars off.

Used as a replacement for my stock rest that broke under pressure. This support Is a lot stronger and puts up with a lot when we are roughing large pieces
