Great for hanging paintings
I started using these after we built our retirement home. They leave little trace (hole) in the wall that can be easily patched if needed. I purchased 6 different kinds of hanging devices (including the stick-on kind) and these are my favorite. They are easy to install and hold quite a bit of weight when only attached to drywall. For leveling of paintings, I recommend a laser to help ensure everything is level. You just install the hanger screw on the level line at the right distance apart, then hang your painting/picture.

Easiest and most reliable solution I've found for lath and plaster
Hanging stuff on lath and plaster walls is always a bit of a pain. I've tried many types of hangers and methods, and for me these are the most consistently easy and reliable. I've never had one fail (either at installation time or after the fact), and they are holding some impressively heavy pieces of art. The one downside is that they do make a substantially larger hole than a traditional nail-based hanger. But with the nail hangers, half the time I end up having to try two or three spots before I get it to hold (even with all the tricks you can find online...), and that ends up causing more damage than a single one of these does.

Great for hanging pictures
I used these some years ago and they perfect for screwing into plasterboard (and brickwork with plastic plugs). Just be careful about weight you hang on them. For picture frames you can have cord across back of picture, or if they have the metal hangers already fitted you can hang directly onto them. They also have these in BLACK and they look really cool.

Works good on hanging frames or keyhole backing
Yes I use these. I still used anchors on some of my heavier items with the screws. I rather be safe then sorry. Photos are what I used these screws for.

Great hangers
Only need a Phillips screwdriver to install. I bought them to hank surround sound speakers in drywall. The speakers have a key hole style slot to hang them. These worked great! I was a little concerned with their weight, but these hold the speakers no problem. These also work much better hanging wall clocks than the nails I was using. These can’t get pushed in too far to hang!
