Good for what i need
Got this for my wife who is afraid of wildlife at night around property. Good reach as a baton if you need it that way which is what i got it for. The light is bright but not like one of those thousands of lumen led lights on the market, which i didnt really need. Its properly heavy and with that length it can feel a lot heavier if you’re holding it outside its center of mass. Thats why i bought it but if youre going to use this as a normal flashlight its definitely a bit too big and wont fit in any pocket. I recommend getting some rechargable size D batteries, its always a pain to try to give life to a dying maglite with those batteries, so some rechargeability could go a long way

Get what you pay for.
The contact spring was rattling around in the tube. Put the spring back in the end cap. I loaded the flashlight up with 10000 mAH D cells. It is Very heavy. Carefully pressed the end cap onto the end and tightened to avoid galling the threads. (I'll probably add IDEAL Noalox to lubricate the end cap threads and contact surfaces before too many battery checks and changes.) The flashlight is very bright at full power (compared to full sunlight). Keep in mind the weight. Be careful not to drop the flashlight. The flashlight will probably survive, but the stack of D cells in the battery will not be happy since they're not wearing seat belts so to speak.

Great flashlight, very bright and has a good feel.
You can get this flashlight alot cheaper here than you can from Maglite's actual website. I got mine in a timely manner and i love it. It's super bright, has nice weight and is super sturdy. It has a bright mode, a regular type of mode, an energy saving mode, a strobe feature and a feature to where the light only stays on for as long as you hold the button, these features come in different set-ups, there's currently a regular use, outdoor use, police and military setup which comes with different sets of these features. I love my flashlight and it's a great self defense tool considering the strobe is powerful enough to disorientate someone and you can do a number on them with the actual flashlight it's self as a makeshift baton of sorts. It does weigh a bit and it is big, so make sure you know what you're getting into when you buy it. I'd buy it again.

Strong and Reliable
This flashlight is amazing. It can double as a weapon and got me through a near-apocalypse scenario. Power was out at my place for nearly a week and I needed to shower and stuff. This thing was powerful enough to help me do that in the pitch black.

It's not as solid as the old Maglites but it's decent.
This is the 6 D Cell Maglite ML300L. It's the new LED version.First the good. It is bright and fairly solid. If you want a little self protection (club) when you are out walking at night, this will do the trick. At least once. The programmable switch button is a cute feature but completely unnecessary. I would rather they kept the strength of the build and the simplicity of function of the late 1970s/early 1980s Maglites. Now the not so good. I owned a 7 D Cell Maglite from years ago that is out of production. That was a solid heavy flashlight you could drop off a roof and it would work. I upgraded it with an LED bulb to increase the brightness. Unfortunately, it went missing. This new 6 D Cell Maglite is not nearly as heavy duty or drop resistant as the old version in my opinion. I'd be scared to drop this one. Nor will it likely accept as much abuse as the original. And, unfortunately, they don't make 7 D Cell Maglites anymore.Things have become cheaper made over the years. It's a shame. But at least they are still made in the USA.

Light showed up when it said it was going to. The light performs better than I thought.

Warning! Not as advertised. Fraud.
These are not as advertised. The seller has added additional packaging over the factory blister package and added their own label that covers the model number on the factory package. The model number on the aftermarket package does not match the original package labeling or the model number shown in the listing. The listing is for model number ML300L6D, except for one place in the listing where 2 different numbers are shown together. Model number ML300L6D has "LED" engraved on the head of the flashlight. The model number shipped is "S6D016", and does not say "LED" on the light. The 2 models contain different bulbs and have very different light output. I will be returning this.
