Regulates the heating of a cabin
This is generally brilliant at the job I want it to do. I have a basic ceramic electric fan heater to heat up an outbuilding. It can generate a lot of heat but I don't want it belting out heat all the time and cooking me while it's emptying my wallet. I just want to keep the chill off.So I plugged the heater into this and this device into a dual tarriff energy plug meter to track usage. The remote control tracks the temperature in the room. I played around a bit and said if it drops below 16 degrees it comes on. If it goes about 17 degrees it goes off. That works wonders as a concept and generally. The only issue is the remote doesn't seem to measure the temperature realistically it seems. Either that or there are drafts sometimes that make the room feel colder than the actual temperature sometimes. Also the temperature can vary lots around the room. If you're next to the heater it can be very hot. If you're on the other side of the room you don't notice it for some time.In all you need to play around a bit. The temperature sensor will moderate a lot it seems. So it seems to hover near the same baseline rather than going much higher or lower if that makes sense. So overall great device, a little bit pricey for what it is (although I don't think these are very commonly used so there was not much competition). Just needs a bit of experimentation for your situation. The manual was pretty easy if you are in a clearheaded state of mind. And the device works, even though it's not 100% intuitive. So therefore would recommend.

Use this for an out house or shed, monitor the temperature from your living room
I use this to keep a heater on when required to avoid my hibernating tortoise from freezing in the garage. Works very well and it doesn't take too much reading to work out how to set it up. Even has a high low alarm so I can tell if the temperature has dropped below the low level due to some fault, likewise a high temperature alarm in case the garage is on fire. Very well thought out.

Temperature in not accurate and makes annoying beeping sound
It's pretty easy to set up temperature gap. Actual temperature in not accurate by 3 Celsius and constant beeping sound which drivese crazy, would put it in the been just just because of that beeping sound which you can't mute.

Does the job
This device has worked flawlessly for the past nearly 5 months, keeping a poorly-insulated bedroom from getting too cold during the winter. While the instructions are a bit hard to decipher, the user interface is actually quite reasonable. The measured temperature corresponds closely with other digital thermometers, and a pair of Energizer Max AAA batteries lasted a bit over 4 months before the low battery symbol appeared. Recommended.

Works well
It works as expected, but really need to read the instructions to stop the alarm function

Instructions are rubbish but the unit works quite well
The manual leaves a lot to be desired (I know these things are made in the far-east but why-oh-why can nobody in China offer to translate these instructions into decent English!). Anyway, having prodded and pressed the buttons a bit it became reasonably self explanatory. The unit works well. The remote seems to be fairly accurate and above all repeatable and even communicates to the base unit about 6 metres away though two solid block walls.
