Incredibly well made and sturdy, sizing is a bit odd, though...
As other reviews have stated, sizing is not what you'd expect. I have two Huskies that are 75 lbs each, and the "small" size is still a bit loose, especially in the front chest strap, which isn't resizable. When attaching the front ring, the harness will twist sideways and slip around a bit due to slack unless your dog has a very thick neck, like a Rotty or maybe a GSD.At a minimum, make absolutely sure you measure girth before ordering as instructed. Like others have said, I will probably take these into a tailor or sew them up myself to adjust the chest piece a bit. For my Huskies about an inch less on each side would do the trick. In case someone at D&T is reading, it would be great if the same adjustments for the girth and belly straps were available on the front chest piece. That said, these harnesses are just amazingly well constructed, and likely to last a lot of years! I especially like this universal model, in that it has attachments to the front for "no-pull" mode, side D-rings for sledding / joring, and a ring on the handle for general leash work, in additional to the handle itself for more control when you need it. Compared to step-in or other harnesses / halters we've tried, the snap connectors make the D&T units very easy to take on and off, not much harder to connect than a collar. Just slip over the head and then click in a couple connectors, once you've got things adjusted to your dog.If you have a powerful or challenging dog, forget about the gentle leader, a single-purpose no-pull harness or some other gimmick, and pick up this versatile wonder to take charge of your furry friend. You'll both be happier in no time flat. And yes, as others have stated, you can even pick up some velcro patches and bring your dog to the grocery store, if you have the sort of dog that would pass for a service dog. Maybe my two will be able to pull off such a feat, after a few more months "on the job" in this product.

Great harness.
I debated long and hard with this harness, I needed two, one for my 5 year old Siberian Husky and one for my 6 month old American Akita.I decided on the medium size for both, for the husky right away and the Akita will surely grow into it. Now I initially thought the no pull front ring is just what I needed for my husky who thinks he was put on this earth for one reason and one reason only, to pull like a horse. However there is just too much give on the front ring and it drags the harness over his shoulders because the chest strap fits but its not tight enough for this (Sorry D&T). Although the ring is not something I will use, (maybe walking around Pet Smart sure). I did give it a heck of a pull myself and I can tell you its not likely to break, but I live in the burbs and there are far too many roads and I am too paranoid to use it to be honest. That being said, I put the harness on him and whatever way it feels for him, he just doesn't pull like he used to. He basically just leans into it, it takes such a load of my arms as he would keep up the pulling up for 2 miles straight. Maybe its the angle of the rear handle ring or what I just don't know but I like it, I likes it a lot!His measurements are 20" neck, 29" girth and he weighs 56lbs.My female American Akita however is 5lbs lighter than my husky but she has yet to fill out into the 100lb monster she is going to be, but when she gets too big I will probably buy the girth extension, I have a feeling the front chest strap ring will be better the tighter (up to a point) it is on the dog.The plastic clips do feel a little on the flimsy side but again, I gave them a serious pull to try and pop one out and I couldn't, I even picked the dog up off the floor with the handle just to make sure. Actually if the harness can't hold the hanging weight of your dog its not going to hold your dog as it bolts for rabbits or squirrels, so unless you have a 100lbs dog, put it on and pick that sucker off the ground before you step out the door with your best buddy. The patches I didn't get, well aside from the blank patches that come with it, actually the velcro sides could easily be used to stick a water bottle or cell phone velcro attachment for those long straight road walks, probably fall off if you were hard core hiking. The kicker here is I got 2 of these harnesses for less than the price of 1 because I bought them as "Used: Like New" with a less than 1% wear, they are perfectly new, I can't find a single defect or loose stitch anywhere. Most of these refurb harnesses are sent back due to bad size choices, so save yourself some bucks and consider it. They are still prime eligible and you have 30 days to return so there really is no risk in my opinion.Bottom line, love the harness and no matter my critique, it's still a 5 star harness.

1 quality control issue, dog got free, but otherwise strong
I have two of these, one for an 80lb Akita, one for a 65lb Korean Jindo. My wife and I were walking the dogs using the no-pull connection in the front. The dogs saw a cat. The Jindo, of course, pulled and the strap holding the front loop broke. (My wife did catch him by the back handle). On examination, the strap holding the front loop appeared frayed where the stitching broke. I can't tell if there was a problem with the stitching or the material, but this incident happened within a month of purchase and with little use of the front connection. I have no confidence in the front connection for the Akita, a more powerful dog. The no pull feature does help, but I can not use it with the Jindo and dare not with the Akita. Other than that, these harnesses appear well designed. The side strap and, especially the back handle/leash connector are very strong.
