Good quality
I bought this for clearing some brush annually for the creek I fish by my house it is so sturdy I can cut through branches 10 inches thick in minutes

Ok for garden use.
Ok Quality. The machete looked kind of curved. May br my eyes. It wouldn't last long in real use as nothing is holding the handle to the blade. It's just molded in.

The black D handle version is awesome!
The D handle versions are 1075, not 1095, and they'll never break. Yes, they arrive dull. Don't buy it unless you can sharpen your own blades. Also, buy the old school, hard polymer sheath to go with it.

Nice
Highly recommended with the caveat that I prefer the 12" version. Any of the Ontario D-handled machetes is a winner. The length: I use the 12" long one more often than not, but 18" is a classic length. The weight: The blade is thicker than most machetes, at about 1/8" thick. For hacking and chopping I think it's great. The sharpness: Arrives sort of sharp, in a way, but near the handle and near the tip you might find the primary bevels are uneven or even unfinished. Trying to sharpen this, I tend to start with too fine a stone, waste time, then move to medium grit, then give up and go to a file, then work my way back to the finer stone. It's a lot of work, and I'm not good at it.The price: Fantastic. The sheath: There is none. I found I like the marbles sheath, which has one or two exterior pockets for other items. I have been curious about the rothco but never tried it.The d-handle: I like the molded handle rather than riveted, but I found it hurt my knuckles more than protected them, so I cut off as close to the tang as I could. Also spent some time sanding down the mold seams.

Made for the Jungle
I use this for daily farming activities and it's 18-inch blade length is optimum for reaching into the underbrush without exposing the upper arm to the foliage. I have a 12-inch version which is also very functional but there are foliage whose leaves when it touches your skin becomes very itchy and hot to the touch for days, so the 18-inch is perfect to avoid them. I also have 21-inch version but it is too heavy for a 160-lb person for everyday use.

Not good for practical use.
This d guard must have been made for a giant. When I swing this mighty heavy Godzilla sword my hands slide down and it is painful.

Not happy with the loop on the handle
Heavy duty steel. I bought for the closed handle. Unfortunately that’s my only issue. I have a big hand so my thumb is close to the outer ring part of the handle. When you swing hard and make contact with a thick limb, my thumb hits the handle right on the tips. Pretty crappy, not comfortable swinging and hitting solid stuff. I may cut it off. So the handle sucks but the blade is good. I rated a 3. If I feel like it was just me than I’ll update the review

Dull dull dull
High price, horrible factory edge, no sheath.Bought a Harbor Freight for $4.99 and threw away their machete so I could get a sheath for this one. Decent quality, but it is too much work to beat limbs from trees - needs a major sharpening before use. If this came from Mora, you could shave with it right from the box. Factory sharpening is the only real complaint I have had about Ontario. Not a deal breaker, but they should be doing better.
