Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up

Disappointing
*Warning Spoilers*I finally gave up on this book on pg. 459. A strong start and a good concept but executed badly. The character is relatable at first and has none-mum-friends who while quite 2 dimensional are very entertaining. However, Nell’s relationships with her ‘mum’ friends are unrealistic and completely one way. This is never addressed and would have made more interesting reading material.I gave up because the main character, despite not being even remotely exceptional, gets everything wrapped up nice and tidy as u approach the end of the book. Life just isn’t like that even if you are lucky enough to get the happy ending. This wasn’t written for women who are actually in their 40s. For this audience I’d recommend looking for pretty much anything else to read.

It’s like my autobiography
This is one of the best books I’ve read for a long time! I couldn’t put it down. It really resonated with me. A highly recommended read! One of my favourite quotes from it:“Don’t worry too much about people liking you; liking yourself is far more important”And I couldn’t agree more!

Couldn’t put it down!
As a 30 something f up myself, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Read in one evening - an easy, light hearted read reminding us all that starting over is ok at any age! Just because life may not have turned out how we planned, that doesn’t mean it’s over. Would highly recommend!
