Ovation Air Cam Walker Walking Boot (Small, Grey Sole)

I fractured my sesamoid and couldnt walk without crutches. The day i got this i could walk, it is great quality and it even comes with extra pads i used as a cushion on my foot to relieve even more pressure on the ball of my foot. I had an old walking boot from the hospital i tried to walk with and couldnt, this one is cheaper and 10x better.It is a tad noisy but really not as bad as some say, it really is insignificant to me anyways because it allows me to be mobile again! I love it and it looks pretty cool too.

I broke my foot in January and had to have a screw put in my 5th metatarsal. Having no insurance, it was going to cost me $200 at the doctor to get a walking boot. Thank God for Amazon. I got this boot for $40 and have been very satisfied. One reviewer said it was too wide at the bottom. That's why the air feature works so well. It snugs up the fit without the hard rigid feel of older walking boots. Is it comfortable to walk in? Look, these boots are made with no flexibility so your foot is immobile which protects it. How can they possibly be "comfortable" to walk in? I will say this, my foot doesn't hurt when I walk in this boot. Without it I can barely move. Great product. Only issue, the Velcro tape has just started coming loose in one place. Other than that-A plus!

This is a boot that wants to be top of line and well thought out - but it doesn't make the cut.The good - materials and assemblyThe bad - straps the grind and make noise while you walk; inner liner that when folded over the foot and leg creat a crease right on the ankle bone and rubs.I want to like this boot. The step is natural and smooth. Air pump works great, and the air valve even swivels out of the way. Materials are not cheap and wears well. Yet the straps are a pain compared to the boots I have used. They hold well, but rather than velcrowing to the plastic brace to stay in position, the straps swish back and forth, and the edges of the straps seal and unseal. Wearing a brace is bad enough, and the noise that draws attention makes it worse. Plus the crease which results from folding over the foot and leg sections can't be solved with inserting additional pads - really hurts the ankle after a day of wear.

This boot was a life saver! My doctor had given me a different Cam Walker which ended up being way too big; it had a flat sole; it was much higher than my shoe, which threw off my gait and there was no way to support my ankle and leg. It caused so much pain I could barely get around. After doing a lot of research on all the different types of walking boots, I settled on this one. It was shipped quickly and upon receipt I took off the other Cam Walker and started using this one. Within one day, I noticed a huge difference. My leg/ankle didn't hurt nearly as much and the air bladder added much needed support to my ankle and leg which also contributed to less pain. I was able to wear it all day without my leg/ankle throbbing by the end of the day. If you are undecided about which walking boot to purchase, I highly recommend this one. I think you will be happy with how you feel when walking with this Air Cam Walker.

I tore my achilles and had to use an adjustable "Frankenstein boot" until I got to 90 degrees (6 weeks).Then I switched to the Ovatioan Air Cam Walker.This is much easier to walk.The air pump supports the ancle in a much better way than the "Frankestein boot" I got from the hospital.It also stops the foot from swelling during the day at work.When properly put on the first time it is easy to "slip" in and out of the boot for doing exercies.

I blew out my achillies and had a very very long recovery. My insurance would only pay for one cam walker boot per year but wearing them 24/7 for almost 3yrs wore out more than one per year. I got this on the suggestion of my physical therapist and it worked nicely. The sole is thinner than most other walkers. It was nice to not have one leg longer than the other. The pump worked fine and overall the boot was pretty comfortable. I picked up some soccer socks to wear under to keep the lining clean plus they added a little compression to keep swelling down somewhat. I'd buy this again although I hope I don't have to.

I purchased this for the construction of the tread of the boot. From the review, I was under the impression that it was of good quality. I have been using it for less than a week and the boot sleeve is falling apart. When you strap the Velcro to close the boot you have to make sure that the hard part of the Velcro does not touch the hard plastic parts on the sides as it will make a lot of noise as you walk, you have to make sure the Velcro does not touch the material of the boot because it will tear it, the Velcro straps on the inside of the two hard plastic sides will start ungluing and sticking to the sleeve, the straps stay with gaps as they are straight but your leg isn't (ankle narrow/calf wide) and last but not least when you are walking even if you have the straps on firmly the movement from walking will loosen them and all of a sudden the boot has loosened to the point that it feels as if it is unstrapped which it is not. I had purchased this as a replacement for a walking boot that was six years old and the tread had worn. I sure lost my money on this purchase. At least my old boot was a great investment which I am going to have to use for the remaining two weeks of my fracture. This is going into the rubbish bin. :o(
