Beyond the Wall: Exploring George R. R. Martin's a Song of Ice and

After finishing all five of the current books in the GoT series I picked this up because I just couldn't get enough of the lore and world of Westeros and Essos. This book is separated into chapters in the form of articles and essays on different themes and topics within the series.Game of Thrones is one of those rare fantasy series that is generally unpredictable, it does not spell things out for the reader, and is laced with mystery throughout. This book helped me think deeper on the characters and the significance of some of the events and character arcs.Overall, this book helped with unravelling some of the mysteries and complexities of the GoT series, and I enjoyed that very much.What is really accomplished was making me want the 6th and 7th book even more!

This book is an absolute favorite. The essays within are splendidly written and argued, even if you do not agree with the conclusions. I have just re-read the five books of "A Song of Ice and Fire", and like the clicking of secret stones, I made a lot of character connections based on this reading. A very good guide indeed.

All different stories-Not all about game of thrones. I haven't read yet; just flip through it.

A fun read. It's really a collection of op-ed journal pieces that touch on some major themes and challenges the saga faces. Great because you can pick any essay and not be lost in the flow of the book. I was expecting it to provide some solid, unbiased reasoning to backup some of the more mysterious things. And there are a.. couple essays where the option of the author is grand standing. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys more than just the story and/or tries putting ideas about what's next. It's thought provoking and well written about tangible things real life offers (It's just easier to face in a fantasy world)
