Excellent - Amazing as Usual for Krall
I own all of Krall's albums. She has a definite gift! The songs on this CD are absolutely stunning. Her voice is still heavenly. Great instrumentation. Recordings are well done. Very detailed, great soundstage, etc. It plays very nicely on a high end system.Since Amazon hasn't listed the songs yet:01. But Beautiful02. That’s All / Azure-Te03. Autumn In New York04. Almost Like Being In Love05. More Than You Know06. Just You, Just Me07. There’s No You08. Don’t Smoke In Bed09. This Dream Of You10. I Wished On The Moon11. How Deep Is The Ocean12. Singing In The RainThe only disappointment is the "very cheap" thin cardboard case for the CD. Cardboard wears out. No additional CD info supplied for a plastic case, which I placed my CD into.Maybe one day someone will get a hint and supply a normal plastic "standard" (not the thin junk) CD case like in days gone bye.*** Ours arrived safely, but check for CD breakage.

Don't smoke in bed
Don't smoke in bed while listening to this album because you'll probably burn down your house by falling asleep.Let me say that I have every CD and DVD Diana Krall has ever released. I have been listening to her for years and used to love love love her. Anymore though all her music is starting to sound the same. She still has that sultry, dreamy voice that is her trademark but her jazzy virtuosity has really taken a back seat over the last several albums. Her early material is her absolute best and gets the most play in my CD player. Her later recordings, not so much.Probably the most disappointing thing about this CD though is the very cheap thin cardboard packaging. It's so thin that I was surprised that it actually opens up and lists the credits. The cover design I think was trying to play off the old CTI record covers but the print job is so bad that it fails miserably.Anyway, diehard fans will buy this recording no matter what. New fans would be better off collecting her early material first because it's really superior in every way.

Singin in the Rain with Diana Krall
Singing in the Rain is the standout track on here, what a great rendition, could not wait to hear how she would pull it off and she does with flying colors, I wanted more. This album is the perfect follow up to Turn Up the Quiet. Even though its mostly unused recordings from that recording and her long time producer Tommy LiPuma, thats fine. This was an incredible duo of music makers and I am all for more being released from their canon of work together. She says there is enough for another couple albums thankfully. To the previous review about too many slow songs, this what Diana does best and this is her style. Upbeat ones are always great, and there are a couple on this album, but this is what she is known for. I am still waiting for her to record On the Sunny Side of the Street, she plays it at her live concerts and its fantastic...For This Dream of You however sit back and take it all in on a rainy day, I would never not purchase one of her albums and this one does not disappoint. The packaging however does, has no photos, no booklet, nothing, sparse bland design cardboard. thats it. Still 5 stars for her dreamy vocals and production and giving us this treat despite the pandemic this year. Thank you Diana! Can''t wait for more.

Renewed energy
I found Diana Krall's previous two albums disappointing. This one, though, seems like the magic of her earlier recordings—her breathy voice melding with her piano and other subtle accompaniment—particularly the guitar which happens to be the work of several different musicians—Anthony Wilson, Russell Malone, and Marc Ribot. Sound quality on my Bose Wave is superb. Most of the cuts are reasonably recent recordings of tunes from the great American songbook but with two tunes unfamiliar to me—Don't Smoke in Bed by Willard Robison and This Dream of You by Bob Dylan. On two cuts Diana handles the vocal with only the piano of Alan Broadbent. I opened the CD package at 3 AM and have been listening for 4 1/2 hours. It's light out now and I'll get on with my day but must voice my dismay at the horrible packaging and sloppy design of the folding cardboard. The cover photo is indecipherable. Is it something from the International Space Station? It is neither informative nor attractive. It has no connection to the beauty within.

Diana missed the boat
Diana krall has missed the boat on this one. I can understand why it's a personal interpretation of some songs but the choice of songs was not to my liking, and she does not have a good enough voice, oftentimes sounding flat, which surprises me for a piano player and did not like slowness of the more identifiable tunes. Every single song, it hurt for me to make myself listen to it and find something good. I know the musicians personally, John Clayton, Jeff Hamilton, Russell Malone, Christian McBride. I listen to her because of them sometimes. I like some of her other albums. In fact, my very favorite one is the one that won a Grammy, When I Look In Your Eyes. I can play that over and over and over again. With complete Joy. But this one is not good unfortunately. It was something she did from the heart because of Tommy LiPuma's death. She produced it herself, I commend her for that but I want to just throw this in the garbage.
