Q: Are these considered to be size 11 beads? I need them for a trip to Kenya & know nothing about beading. Thanks for your help.

Yes it does mean size 11. If you buy these and want other colors for your project make sure you get 11 or 11/0 so they are uniform in size. I work with size 11 & 13 sead beads and make earrings, necklaces, bracelet, amulet bags, etc. and have been beading since 1979. The sizes for seed beads can be alittle overwhelming for the novice beader. When buying them be aware that the larger the number the smaller the bead, such as 11/0 is a larger bead than 13/0, size 13/0 is larger than size 15/0. You will also need to have size 10 to 12 seed bead needles and some nylon thread. I buy John James bead needles, I have found they are the best and I buy Nymo thread in sizes 00 thru B. I have noticed that alot of beadwork coming from Africa is basically size 10 (10/0) beads. Do you have a project in mind for these beads?

Large hole beads usually are sizes 8,10,12...... Seed beads are very tiny. They aren’t large hole

Q: Will the color wash off if beads are made into rings? Do the colors go all the way through the bead?

The color goes all the way through and doesn't rub off. Easy to work with if you are used to working with 11/0 size beads
