5.11Tactical EVO 8-Inch Boots, Side Zip Access, Full-Length EVA Midsole, Style 12312

5.11 evo (8inch) waterproof are perfect for any scenario in my opinion. They are tight and hard to get on but give them time to break in. A couple day's. Also , zip before you tie. For me, non slip, publishable, comfortable, waterproof makes for a great bartenders shoe. Especially during 12 hour shifts. They do fine at the range as well.

Very comfortable as an all day every day wear. This is a great company and they continue to perform above expectation with this product.*Update*I have owned these boots for just shy of one year now as my literally every day wear. I do 3+ miles a day in them, and more than 30 miles a week, so they've carried me somewhere around 1400 miles by now. These boots are fantastic. They are still going strong, some small expected wear and tear on the leather, especially since I haven't been gentle with them or doing all of the maintenance care that I really should have. I will happily buy another pair when these eventually fall apart, maybe in another 1400 miles or so!

Great boots, had them for a month now, wear them every day, get some altera wool socks and your feet will be going the swim walk all day in these bad boys. They stay dry in the wet yucky snow and they are not to hot indoors. Hell, I even wear these to bed when I'm to tired and lazy use the very easy zipper to pull them off. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing them and jump right in the shower, thank god for that waterproof membrane.

I dont know what to say to express my dissapointment in the quality out of recent 5.11 boots. I have been wearing them since 2010 and usually buy a new pair every year as i manage to wear off the soles due to the amount of use these boots get. My last pair i replaced with these the leather around the toes started tearing open after 5 months. Now this pair purchased a little over a month ago i have torn the material in the zip up section while pulling the boots on as well as the loop for pulling them on just ripped off the back of the right boot. I dont know what happened to the quality but i know for sure both recent pairs have been made in Bangledesh and do not hold up like they used to. This is not the level of quality that 5.11 has been known for and i am very disapointed. It may be time now for me to find another brand.

Seem like solid construction, but also a misstep/step back from the old Tactical line that 5.11 used to offer.The ankle feels much too tight, and the side zipper barely opens compared to the Tacticals. Even unzipped, the shaft of the boot is too narrow to easily get ones foot in or out of. While this can be remedied by untied and loosened laces, that sort of defeats the purpose of the side zipper in the first place.While the ankle isn't horrible, is definitely feels more cramped, and less padded as well.The sole is comfortable, with a great tread. They look/feel very well made. Sadly, this design fails short of the discontinued Tactical line

These are awesome!! only 4 stars because there is no stitching on the sole as described. Took them through europe for 3 weeks and they really helped out, hid 100 euros in the little side pocket and docs on the other side. They are somewhat watherproof, the protective barrier does not go all the way to 8 inches, its more like 6 inches and once the material inside gets wet, it acts as a sponge and sucks more water in. However, the conditions we put them through ware a little extreme (wacken open air, heavy rain and heavy mud) . Light boots and really comfortable, get yourself a pair.

Very comfortable boot. I wear a 10 but purchased a 1/2 size smaller and they fit perfect. I have had 2 other different models from 5.11 in the past and the evos are by far the most comfortable.

My dad is a licensed C-53 Pool Contractor and is around mud and water all the time. I can't tell you how many pairs of boots hes gone through ruined from water buildup and general use.. Danner, Cebu, CAT.,etc etc.He would always come home with his socks and feet wet. until i decided to get these for him through a friend recommendation that works on a cold wet lumber yard up in Canada.Let me tell ya, hes soo damn happy and wont stop talking about them now. He tells me how they keep his foot warm and dry after a long day no matter how much water hes been around in. Every time it rains now he jokes to me how about how its 511 weather haha.

Great boot. From the 1st time I put them on they fit excellent. Did not need to break these in.
