these are great ... plenty strong enough for holding things like handsaws, steel rulers, spirit levels, and even a 2lb/1kg sledge hammer! the locking mechanism means these don't fall out when grabbing a tool and they're easy enough to get in and out of the pegboard with a little practice

If you use Wall Control metal pegboard panels, then you absolutely must buy these hooks. They work perfectly. If you're not completely satisfied, I will personally give you your money back ;-)I purchased the combination 1" and 2" pack. The 1" hooks work for most items, but the 2" ones are still useful for larger items.Here are the main benefits that I see:1. They fit perfectly into the round holes on the Wall Control panels. You have to squeeze them a bit to insert, which means that they cannot possibly fall out accidentally.2. You can install two hooks side-by-side to hold something larger, like a hammer. Two hooks can occupy the same hole, so they can be installed just 1" apart if necessary.3. They're narrower than the small Wall Control hooks, so they can be used for items that have small hanging holes. I didn't realize how many items like this I had.4. They free up your custom Wall Control accessories for use on other things.

Editing this to show how I use these to display cookie cutters on stainless pegboard.These pegboard hooks work as advertised and are a quality product. You squeeze the top two prongs and insert them into two pegboard holes, and they stay. There may still be a little movement if you lift an item off the hook, but the important point is the peg isn't going anywhere. I bought the assortment (1" and 2" pegs) and tried them on my Wall Control pegboards in the kitchen, and they are perfect. Plus the prongs are narrow enough to work with kitchen utensils that I can't hang with other solutions, such as Wall Control's proprietary pegs. I moved one peg three or four times and it kept its tension each time. Basically because of this product I can proceed with a solution I've wanted to implement, which is to place a Wall Control board adjacent to our oven range for spoons, whisks, and spatulas, most of which have narrow hanging holes. As the photo shows, they also work well with odd items such as this 6" cookie cutter. I was hoping to find white pegs that would match our white Wall Control boards and pegs, but these pegs are so thin that the stainless steel blend in nicely, and they look very sleek. Talk about a simple, inexpensive solution to a problem.

These puppies will NOT come out (as President Trump would say, "That I can tell you" LOL). Compared to the "normal" pegboard hooks, these are substantially superior and extremely cost-effective. I highly recommend them. I think I've purchased about 300 of them so far. My pegboard is a work in progress, but these are easy to install and, likewise, easy to move around. I bought mostly 1" and 2" until I discovered the also sold hooks. Very satisfied.
