McGraw-Hill's ASVAB, 3rd Edition: Strategies + 4 Practice Tests

It's a really good book specially for the cd because it's give you the score (bad thing, don't have a timer. But still is great) I got the real asvab test and scored a 65 AFQT (I'm good in math but this help more). I recomend this book for really clear explanation in all asvab math area. For all the others areas is good but I think u could combinate it with marrows book. And my recommendation if u are planing to take the asvab test. First focuse studying math and arithmetic make sure that you learn how to solve each problem and then try to apply those knoledge with differents problem from this book and some other one. Trust me you are going to have plenty of time if u are taking the computer vertion of the asvab (if u are taking the paper one well my condolences I took that one and I scored 22 :/. ) relax and really sleep the night before because I made the mistake of not got. A good night sleep the night before and I was devastated on the test for real on paraph and comprehension area I had to read 3 time the samething not gor difficult it was just my mind that was shutdown. Word knoledge is just a guess some were easy others not. ( try as much as u can to answer the harders math and arithmetic question because they give u more points

I really had only a vague idea as to what the ASVAB was going to be like. Though I knew what types of questions would be on certain sections of the ASVAB, I had no idea as many questions on the test I haven't concerned myself with since I was 15 (I am now 23). To assure that I would receive a very high score I purchased this study guide with the hopes of Army OCS (the higher the gt score the better) and found that not only did it cover all possible materials on the ASVAB, but it reinforces what it teaches by testing the reader 4 separate times, with full length tests, allowing the reader to improve each time. My AFQT percentile was 96, and I can honestly say that it is because I was over prepared due to how thoroughly McGraw Hills ASVAB study guide covered all possible materials. As long as the test taker begins studying at least 1 week in advance and puts forth a minimum of 4 hours per day, I can almost promise that the test taker will receive a good score by whatever standards they have.

I bought this primarily to brush up on math before taking the ASVAB. Overall I think it's worth buying this version with the CD. Keep in mind that the CD does not contain study material, the CD has multiple practice tests for each section of the ASVAB (Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, etc). This is a plus considering that the book only has 1 practice test per section... They definitely should have included more practice tests within the book itself.After studying for about a week my scores drastically improved. Make sure to read the amount of time allowed for each section so you can time yourself while you take the practice tests (the tests on the CD do NOT time you!)

After I took it, the guy took my test and ran out of the room. To my surprise I sat there and waited for at least 20 minutes. Then he came in and said that I need to come with him right away. I was really worried at what was going on. He hurried me into his company Air Force vehicle and drove me to the airport. I got put on an airplane to Washington DC only about a couple hours after taking my test. I arrive in D.C. and am picked up by two high ranking looking individuals in a black SUV. They take me to a building and tell me that I got the most advanced score on the ASVAB in recorded history. They tell me they are starting a program and want me to be the prototype individual. They said it was "The Iron Man Project".

We got this book for my husband going into the AF, he got a 68 on a test ASVAB he took with an army recruiter. His final score was a 79. This book did nothing to prepare him for the administrative portion of the test, which he scored in the mid-60s. Otherwise, he got low 90's and upper 80's. Find different study material for the technical part and you're set. Overall, we're happy with how this book prepared him

I purchased this book for a family friend that is considering joining the Navy. I am former military and I remember taking the ASVAB. I wish I had this book when I took is years ago. This is an excellent resource and it will help you learn more in order to get a higher score on the ASVAB. Remember the higher the score, the better job selection. If you are thinking about joining the military I would highly recommend that you purchase the book and study the material prior to taking the test, Good luck!

I bought this for a young man who is trying to increase his score on the ASVAB exam. After reviewing the book I believe it is quite complete in it's content. I informed him that if he would put the time in and work through the book then he should be in good shape come test time.

I bought this book mainly for the detailed math section, as it had been several years since I had done any decent math. Honestly, I didn't spend much time on the other sections, but this book is so detailed and packed with helpful information, tips, study strategies, quiz questions to make sure you understood the section, etc. I studied for a week and made a 93 on the test. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great study reference for the ASVAB and going into any branch.
