Jar was already open when delivered
I've had this maple butter before as a gift from relatives, and I think it is a wonderful product. However, this product says "refrigerate after opening", but it arrived damaged and open already, and was leaking into the bubble wrap. Upon looking on Amazon to return or replace it, it seems neither of those is an option. My 1 star review stands unless something can be done about this, otherwise I consider it money in the trash. I basically paid to have a mess to clean up.As this is still a good product in general, I'll be looking for this in my local stores.

Did Not Survive Shipping
I use to buy the Shady Maple Farms Maple Butter at my local grocery store, but they no longer carry this item, nor do they special order it. I wanted to try getting this on my own through Amazon.com, however, the product didn't quite survive shipping in that the cover was dented and with the lid loosened, the maple butter leaked out. Fortunately, the bubble wrap and tape contained the sticky mess, but since the bottle lid was "open" I could not be sure that the bottle contents was not contaminated. Since this item could not be returned, I chose to toss it out. But if you can get a tightly sealed bottle, the Shady Maple Farms Maple Butter is great tasting and is excellent on toast, in sandwiches and crepes.

The best maple butter out there
There's only two words for this product: Delicious, and Addictive. I've tried other maple butters and they just didn't compare well. If you want to learn a little more about this product, read up on the internet about the "grades" of syrup used for these syrup, maple butter (and more) products. Some of the maple farms use lighter grades of syrup, which means the flavor isn't quite as rich. Shady Maple Farms uses the darker, richer grades which translates out to a vastly more flavorful product. I know it's a little more expensive, but I say, until you've tried this brand - you haven't had the best tasting.

"Pronounced Maple Flavor is Golden"...
It is smooth, creamy and delicious. And if you like your maple "less sweet" it is all about Canadian maple syrup (instead of Vermont maple syrup). This product is from Canada and is one of the better maple butters I've had.The price is fair for an imported item and the size provided. I buff this stuff on shortbread cookies or anything else that is logical. It will be tough to apply on soft baked goods since you must refrigerate it after opening. However, a six (6) second nuke of a small portion of it is all you need to soften it up and apply it to your delicate pastry. The pronounced maple flavor is hard to beat. There are so many maple baked items which have a very light maple flavor to them. As a result, I should try and have a jar of this around to amp up the maple flavor of other maple items.

The Real Thing
Having been born in maple country in Ontario, my standards for maple products is rather high. This is the first maple butter I've had that actually tastes like maple to me, instead of maple-flavored. In other words, it has a robust maple flavor similar to what I'd expect if maple sugar candy was melted down. So the texture is indeed "sugary", as in it has a slight graininess due to the crystals, I'm guessing. Really, really good and at a reasonable cost, too.

The Real Thing! Look no further!
This is It! Been looking for this for Years! Impossible to find on the shelves. This is an old Quebec, Ca. recipe that is very hard to make correctly. So, you will see maple cream and other knockoffs, that are terrible. This is the real McCoy! And it is unavailable anywhere else! Made from 100% Maple Syrup, not butter. Serve on a warmed croissant lightly coated with soft butter/margarine, and Maple Butter! Same as served at famous Marie Bread Oven (Beaupre Coast, Blvd. Ste. Anne). Look no further!

Drowning in this labor of love, going down for the 3rd time!
I missed my chance at the Crumpet Shop in Seattle. I enjoyed this (Maple Cream, tho not this brand) very much while there on a twice toasted fresh baked ceumpet, with the maple butter melted all over it - heaven. My mistake was I carried it on not considering it's considered too large and forbidden to carry on so I forfeited it. So glad I found this as they let me keep my crumpets and I had this over the last of it today. So yes there's an incredible for me! Btw and for the record I really liked this maple cream, and plan to continue- YUM!

not smooth, will not buy again
I bought my first maple butter from a local farm and I was blown away by the product. It was a heavenly food, smooth, fluffy, and smelling good, but it was a little pricy, so I looked for a less expensive one on amazon. This one is a big disappointment. It is very grainy and not fluffy at all. I am giving it two stars because it is organic and less expensive, but I am not buying it anymore.
