Not Quite a Drop- In For Me
Our original lamp was installed by our HVAC contractor; it burned out after about 3 years. The contractor repalcement lamp cost was well above the Amazon price. The big difference is that this lamp is rated for one year. The instatl was simple except for the fact that the new lamp - which was 1 inch shorter than the original and the same diameter as the original - hit an obstruction when inserted through the cut out in the sheet metal return box. It left a 3/16 inch gap above the return box surface which would obviously leak air. This new lamp wouldn't fit flush and I couldn't figure out why . My solution was to cut a roughly 5"x 5" square of cardboard for a gasket to close the gap, drill the hole for the lamp, put the lamp through this cutout , mark the 2 holes on the flange for the sheet metal screws and drill them . This worked just fine. After connecting the lamp to the power as the last step - remember humans can't see UV light - I observed that the white palstic top lamp enclosure/ connection flange was iluminated white. This tells you you know it's on.

Hard to rate when I haven't received it yet!
I ordered 2 of these bulbs ...1 for me and 1 for my mom....I ordered mine about an hour or so before ordering my mom's.....she received hers the very next day! I ordered them 4 days ago and mine hasn't left the originating state of North Carolina..... imagine that! Somewhat disappointed ☹️....I've been using these bulbs for a few years now and they do a great job.....just have to replace them once a year ...no big deal ... But the price has more than doubled since the first one I bought ....I rated the bulb 5 star because they work as intended but the shipping should get about a one star....

One year guarantee
second time I had purchased blub from this company, first time no problems, second blub I had bought when installed did not work. Company sent replacement blub and upon install found that blub to be bad also. E-mail from company, although their ad states they have a one year guarantee they are now refusing to replace the blub. Was told in e-mail that they had refunded my money but as yet cannot verify that fact.
