I like that the lid has a ridge and therefore is not wobbly like other brands (I ordered a few to compare). The butter does stay fresh in it as opposed to the use of those butter containers for the countertop. It makes great gift as well. Highly recommend.

I tried using it with water in it made the butter mold. I have trouble using my hands so the handle on top works great.

Simple to use. Firmly pack butter into cup. Fill base to water line with cool water, set top into base. Like the design of this crock. Top turns over and can sit on counter for use, with a rim to set butter knife on. Keeps butter fresher than leaving butter on counter in a regular butter dish.

I haven't tried a crock before so I can't compare but I really like this. I prefer the taste of real butter over margarine and it's so nice having it easily spreadable whenever I want it. It's a simple thing to change the water every few days as I am using it so it stays fresh. And it looks nice on my counter top.

I love to have room temp butter - but most butter dishes get so messy- the lids get all covered in butter. This design keeps the mess in and the butter fresh. Win-Win.
