Modern Fashion Illustration: Create Trending Stories & Develop a Personal Brand Flexibound – April 13, 2021

This is the best drawing/fashion design book I own and I own a lot. I am a teacher and I use drawing books to guide my middle school students for independent practice when I can’t be at every table with every student. This is by far the best. It is a bit more advanced so I use it with my 8th graders and myself. I think 6/7th graders with a little more one on one help could use this as well. I would love to see a male fashion book by Holly Nichols in the future!As an avid illustrator and learner, I use this book myself and it is very useful! Love the practice pages at the end! Bravo Holly Nichols!!!

I’m applying to fashion school right now and a portion of the application requires fashion illustration.I am in no way an artist and have never been super great at drawing human forms. I am great at making clothes but the drawing portion has been stressful. This book has been such a great resource. It’s obviously not a technical book or a textbook, but it has been so helpful with providing basic information to improve my fashion illustration for my portfolio. Especially for someone who knows nothing about drawing. It’s jam packed with skills and techniques to improve drawing and coloring fashion figures. My illustrations have improved tenfold from the help of this book.I find the copic coloring guides throughout the book very useful especially the hair and skin colors lists. The author shows the hair she drew/colored and then lists the colors used. I have used the guides to slowly grow a great collection of copic markers to use for hair and skin. The markers are quite pricey so it helps to have some sort of guide to make sure I’m not just buying random colors.I highly recommend this book. It’s a great starting point for fashion illustration!

Thank you Holly for getting me excited about fashion illustration again. I found her on TikTok and was instantly obsessed. Compelling videos and a truly talented artist, this book really details the how-to with practical lessons on creating beautiful illustrations. Holly’s approach is quite simple and anyone can do it.

This book is incredible! You learn so many different techniques. The book walks you through her inspiration and early art and then brings you up to date with incredible illustrations or modern women. You won't regret it.

I don't usually review Amazon products, but I just HAD to leave a review of Holly's book. I am just getting into fashion illustration (total newbie) and this book has been an amazing help. Plus, if you don't follow Holly on Instagram already, you need to because the inspiration and motivation she supplies for your own art is endless.

I expected to get the typical paper back book, boy was I wrong, this book is so beautiful I think I may just by a second one so it can stay in mint condition the quality of the cover as well as the inside pages are extremely good. The content is so good, I can’t wait to learn and hopefully draw as beautifully as Holly Nichols does. Definitely a Five Star and more review for this book.

I LOVE this book! I spend a lot of my spare time reading through it! I follow the author on social media, and her and her artwork is just so inspiring!Definitely recommend to anyone who is an inspiring artist, or who enjoys her artwork!

Lovely! This is filled with beautiful images and instructions to recreate them. I was agog over how many different styles there were to choose from. Love the different techniques shared too. If you have a new illustrator in the making, this is a great creative tool. It's also great for learning a new way to draw.
