EXCELLENT PET DOOR DESIGN ::: Very Very Satisfied for Kitty Kat ::: Now She can enjoy outside
GREAT DESIGN: I paid $19 open box on Prime delivery for the pet door. The instructions were precise and easy but required some skills with tools to install. THE MOST IMPORTANT need is to remove your patio screen door from the track in order to lay it on a flat protected surface in order to make your template on the screen material, then I cut out the opening after reinstalling patio screen door(ADVICE: DO NOT ATTEMPT INSTALLATION WITH SCREEN IN PLACE UPRIGHT). Our cat is is 6 months old and it took awhile for her to figure it out. But we handheld her and slipped her through the swinging door to the outside, she figured out how to come back in herself after the first 10 days. I believe you have to work with your pet, but she is getting it. She has not gone out without our help yet, but we put her out on to our protected balcony which she enjoys the fresh air and watching people & activities below on the street 1.5 floors down below.. The pet door is well made, and the company came through for what we needed. It's sturdy, lockable, cleanable, and good. I would recommend it. Other similar products seemed a bit flimsy, so I paid a few bucks to get better quality. (plus I checked the reviews carefully) I definitely would recommend this pet door. Check my attached photo next to Kitty Kat's litter box and food area, there's the pet door, 2 inches from each edge of screen frame as they recommended. Its works great. ENJOY...

Easily installed & sturdy!
This is our second one of these. The first lasted 3 years (in the sun too!) until the plastic window cracked. This one went in easily and looks great. To give an example of how sturdy it is, when my wife got home before me she has our 6 year old neice go through to unlock the door. No issues, held up great!

Good deal for the price, tips for smooth installation & zoomie proofing
This is a pretty good deal for your money! When we opened the package we had our doubts (it's all plastic and felt pretty cheap) but after it was installed, we were pleased with the quality. The door is light weight enough that our 13 lb chihuahua can easily open it with his nose and the magnet is strong enough that it stays in the closed position by default. We underestimated how necessary a mallet would be to get the pieces to connect through the screen so make sure that:(1) you have a rubber mallet and a firm flat surface that can handle hammering(2) your screen door is removable cause installing this in a vertical position is a fool's errand! If your screen door isn't removable, I recommend installing this in the screen on the floor and then install the new screen w/built-in door in the frame (which is what we ended up doing) - note that this will require 2 people, some measuring and good quality tape (unless one of you has strong arms and doesn't mind holding the screen up while the other splines.Regarding screen: we bought ADFORS Premium Pet Screen which is supposedly tougher than standard screen so I imagine that there would be less hammering involved if you choose not to upgrade to pet screen.Preparing for the worst: When we were training our dog to use the door he actually smashed through the screen like the Kool-aid man so we had to re-do the install in some new screen. The second time we actually used rubber glue in the corners of the door to withstand future zoomie attacks. It's working well now!

Works great
I have a large metal tough screened window and was leery about fitting this into my screen as there were so many complaints....so much so I put off the project 3 weeks.I tried the directions and they did not work. So I read the comments of other reviewers and mix and matched several bits of their advice.1. First I put the two frames together with the swinging window inside just to see if the 2 sides fit properly. I did not connect all the inserts - just enough to know when there was a screen between them it should fit also.2. Get a rubber mallet. Thank you to whoever suggested this.3. Put the screen flat on floor. My metal screen is metal and old and tough. I put one side of the pet door under the screen in the position I wanted it to be in. Then I used a screwdriver to poke a small hole over the top of the areas where the "door" prongs stick up around the top of the frame and I poke a hole inside the round holes at the top of the screen door where the prongs of the 2nd part of the door fit. That idea was great because I could not get the two side together without doing that. I didn't have to poke holes in the screen at the bottom because once the top snapped together I used the rubber mallet to pound in the bottom half of the door half together.4. I did cut the screen out before snapping the 2 sides together but I did not cut a very big hole. I waited until I had to 2 sides snapped together and then cut off the rest of the areas around the inside just enough so the door swung freely.5. My cats were confused by the flap door so I wadded up a plastic grocery bag into a ball - wrapped it into a wad with clear tape and then taped the plastic round wad under one side of the swinging door so the door became propped open / cannot close and the door is instead sticking out toward the inside of the house. The cats can now just go in and out without pushing the door as the door is propped up by that wad of wrapped plastic. Right now I have 99.9% of the screen covering the window keeping bugs out....so I am not worried about a few bugs getting in through the propped up window. I can work on getting the cats used to the flap later.5. I spray painted my screen dark brown so it cannot be seen against the black metal screen so it blends in better.BOTTOM LINE: My cats love it. My screen has one of those rubber rings around it holding it into the screen frame and it is simple enough to buy a screen cut to size and then pull the old screen out and put another screen in if I ever wanted to take out the cat flap door.

Great Doggie Door!
Simple to install. It is the best dog door I have ever had. It seals nicely after the dog goes through and blocks wind and weather from getting in.
