I rented this with credits from my amazon purchases and shipping choices. I ran across a reference to this movie and saw that it was filmed in Pontiac Illinois which is a town not far from me. This made me curious so I watched it. I always liked the actress Jamie Lee Curtis anyway. After about 15 or 20 minutes I realized I'd seen this movie once before many years ago. That was alright because it was long enough ago I didn't remember the plot. This was definitely a 1980s movie. A little cheesy in places and it had that overall 80s movie feel. Like the writers and director were disconnected from the real world but they didn't care. Even with that I would say this movie was better than the average movie during that era. I don't think it was one of Patric Swazey's better performances but Jamie Lee Curtis did pretty well in this. Since it only cost me a couple of dollars in e credits I do not in any way regret the time I spent watching it. A movie like this could never be made in todays world on political correctness points alone. That ( if nothing else ) makes this worth watching!

One of my favorite 80s movie

Grandview U.S.A. is a good movie to watch as Jamie Lee Curtis and Patrick Swayze live in the 80's. The movie was filmed in Pontiac, IL just northeast of where I live. This movie wasn't as popular as everyone thought it would be. After Patrick Swayze passed away the movie has become well known to anyone who liked Patrick. In the movie Jamie Lee Curtis owns and operates a car track where races and demolition derby's take place. Patrick Swayze owns a wrecker service and finds out his wife is cheating. He gets revenge by using a large end loader to drive through and destroy his house while his wife and boyfriend are inside.

Great, great movie. I love Patrick Swayze. He is and always will be my favorite actor. I love all of his movies. Jamie Lee Curtis was great in this movie too. I just never expected her to be a tow truck driver in a movie. Plus I laughed so hard when Patrick set his wife's or girlfriend's house on fire after she cheated on him in the movie. That was my favorite part of the movie.

Good old time comedy

We can't say this is the best movie you'll ever see, but we love it! Why? Because it was filmed right here in our home town of Pontiac, Illinois in the mid 1980's!It has a lot of famous actors, just prior to them breaking into the mainstream. We even watched scenes being filmed around town when we were kids.It's a fun movie with a story that could have been put together a bit better, but we love it because it's 95% filmed in Pontiac, Illinois U.S.A.Grandview U.S.A. is really Pontiac, Illinois U.S.A. A great small community in the heart of America!

This movie is more for the people that live in the Pontiac illinois area otherwise i don't know if it's worth watching.

There is just something about this flick that I find makes for good entertainment. The cast is terrific and in their pre-prime days. The setting in small town USA, and centered around a Demolition Derby business where the main characters find their lives changing, presents great appeal to this middle America film fan! Well written, well played, decently directed. One of my favorites.

As another one unable to view

Very Grassroots movie with demolition derby, blue collar work, failed romance and marriage, growing up in a small-town and revenge. Patrick Swayze was looking his best when he bulldozed his former home after being ejected by his cheating wife. This movie was like a country and western song with some modern twists. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Excellent service been trying to get this DVD for ages came in 20 hrs. New ! Although dubbed in Spanish(that's a laugh) just click on the correct language and it's the original format.

Good movie blu ray transfert amazing. Jamie Lee Curtis is beautifull nice 80' s story.
