So far so good
We really wanted to cast iron pan but I know they get so dirty so we look for one with this finish on it it turns out this was really nice. It's super heavy and it's pretty large but holds the hero well and for certain kinds of meals it's perfect. Egg stuck to it quite a bit but eggs can stick to everything but teflon. We had bought another one with the Martha Stewart brand but it had a textured finish on the inside so we returned that one. This one cleans up really nice and easy and still looks like brand new after several uses.

Works great if you follow the instructions
Not completely non stick but just as good as Le Creuset . . Read the instructions carefully, need to heat the pan and use the drop of water test until you can guess . I now use a bit of Kerigold spreadable butter or plant butter .I sue the pan mainly for making an easy poached egg. I add more kerigold or plant butter ( or a mixture of butter and oilve/coconut oil, oil alone does not work as well) , add the egg , then cover for less than a minute , add hot water and cover , spoon some over the yolk and cover . Turn off the heat for a soft yolk . I think the pan would work better in the surface in contact with the stove was not enamelled , as in Le Creuset pots .

Worst skillet EVER
Although this is a very nice looking skillet, EVERYTHING sticks to it. I have tried tons of butter, a layer of oil, lower heat, etc. I just tried a layer of butter with a medium-low, slowly fried egg. The whole bottom was stuck to the pan. So frustrating.Because it’s such a perfect size, I will keep trying. Maybe there’s a trick to it.

Not nonstick as I'd hoped
I was hoping this would be a nonstick pan to replace the teflon-like pans I used to use. Alas, it is not the same as those. I tried it with the fake vegan eggs (Just Egg) and they stuck like crazy. They do not stick to the "non-stick" teflon-like pans but do to everything else. It's a cute little pan, just not what I was hoping for. The problem is in the product (vegan eggs). I'm not a big fan of these fake products anyway, since I'm allergic to many of the components, like soy. And I don't do canola oil usually. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to regular eggs so am trying to find a substitute. I'm giving up on the fake eggs and will use the pan for something else. It's a good size to melt butter, for instance. It's pretty heavy and well made, so I gave it four stars. I used it on different heat settings, used plenty of avocado oil, experimented, but could not get it to be nonstick, so made several batches inedible.

Perfect!
I have been looking for a small coated cast iron pan similar to my old Le Crueset pan which is actually the lid for a small saucepan. This Mirro 6” mini cast iron skillet is perfect. Unlike other reviewers my pan came in great shape - no chips or cracks. In reading the documentation that came with the pan, I do not see having those issues. Just like my Le Crueset pots and pans, I am careful. I spray it with Pam or oil, cook over medium heat, let the pan cool before washing by hand and drying it, and store it without any pan over or under it. I expect this pan to last for many years. By the way, I use it every day for frying an egg for breakfast. I wish it had come with a lid, but fortunately I have a small sauce pan lid that fits perfectly.

Paint and coating chipped off tip of handle
Don't know how this happened. It was the 3rd time being used. I looked down in the sink and the chip was there.

I like this enameled cast iron skillet but it gets hot and it’s heavy
This is a great enameled cast iron skillet I cook with it very often . The only thing is this skillet is heavy and the handles will get hot so be very cautious. The skillet cooks well, and it’s easy to clean and you don’t have to worry about keeping the skillet oiled up.

Enamel started chipping off after first use
Enamel started chipping off after first use on the side. Have to wonder if this will just continue.

Nice quality
This is a very small pan for cooking in. But that is what I wanted and it is a great breakfast egg amking pan. I have induction and it works phenomenal on the unit and cleans up fantastic. Great buy for the small item cooking tasks.

A solid, easier alternative to traditional cast iron!
I purchased this enameled cast iron pan as I was searching for a replacement for a very weathered "The Rock" non-stick pan. I was innitially thinking of buying a ceramic pan but stumbled upon this pan instead. I LOVE this pan!It truly is non-stick, so long as you are willing to use just a tiny amount of cooking oil before putting your food in. It is quite weighty but the extra carry handle makes it not too difficult to carry, as long as you have two free hands. As mentioned in the description on the pan, there has been a bit of staining on the white enamel as expected. I have and will only be using wooden and silicone cooking tools in the pan to prevent scratches. The exterior colour of the pan is gorgeous! There is a learning curve if you have never cooked using cast iron: heat the pan over medium heat for a good while before cooking in it. It takes quite some time to heat up and the first time I used it, I didn't end up getting the sear that I was looking for on the meat I was cooking. The following times have all been PERFECT!Bottom line:If you're looking for a new "non-stick" pan that is safe to use, easy to clean, and will last you a long time with proper care (and you have the extra money to spend vs teflon non-stick), buy this pan!
