CottamPremium Wooden Handle Scale Tang Scraper Collection - Ideal Paint Scraper or Wallpaper Stripping Knife in Sizes 1", 2" and 3"

First off I am not a DIY-er or a professional trades person, but a know a good product when I see one. I am a older lady having some major work done on her kitchen which has involved having 123 year old solid brick walls taken out and multiple layers of old paint scraped off walls. Obviously I haven't been knocking the walls down but the builders asked me if I'd help to remove the old mortar so to reuse the bricks. I used a bolster chisel for the very worst of the cement but it couldn't get the last bits off. I looked on Amazon for something for the job and saw these Cottam Scrapers, for a pack of three assorted sizes and very reasonably priced I thought I would try them. Now I realise these are not chisels but they damn well could be they shift mortar like you would not believe and because of the solid straight blades and sharp tips they also remove multiple layers of old paint that my old scraper didn't even touch. I have been hitting these things with a lump hamper and they haven't budged just dented the wood handle a bit. I was so impressed I've bought another set for future jobs for when these do eventually blunt. So well made in Britain and well priced I am amazed, I have recommended them to the builders. I think they will last for years. I really cannot describe how impressed I am, probably one of the best items I've ever purchased from anywhere let alone Amazon. Highly recommended by me.

I like these because they are obviously good quality & they fit nicely in my hand. Bear in mind Im a woman with small hands & long fingers so I don't know how someone with large hands might feel but I love them. I used the largest & smallest to strip wallpaper and it was easy. They're a nice weight & sturdy. I'm really glad I bought them

Thanks to Miss S Hughes review of these I went ahead and purchased them knowing I had a very difficult bathroom ceiling wallpaper removal job ahead ! They are so effective, sharp and made my job so much easier. The three different sizes were perfect also. The tough strong handles enabled me to use a light hammer where necessary and give you a good hold too. I’m guarding them with my life ready for the next task!

Good of you want stiff scrapers, the narrow one flexes very little. sharpened edges. NB Not filling knives but scrapers

Very happy with the look and feel of these scrapers, great price came very nicely packaged in a box. As a professional decorator I'm looking forward to using them. These are scrapers, not flexible filling knifes.

Excellent just what I was looking for! These are a great set for the money and are high quality Stainless Steel and so far havent even looked at rusting having washed them a number of times now after thorough use which is so much easier than my old plastic rubber handles zinc plated steel ones which had to be thoroughly cleaned and dried and still ended up breaking. They're very sturdy with no bend in the blades. I've used them to scrape and fill walls (Yes I know I'm looking for the proper filling knifes as Cotton don't make them but if they did...)Minor Cons - The metal which runs through the center of the handles is a little sharp out the box but didn't notice it after a bit of use. You could easily just get a bit of sandpaper to smooth it off. It's just a shame Cotton don't manufacture flexible filling knife set also as I would have bought a set of those for sure!I'd certainly buy again or recommend!

For the price you can’t complain sturdy, comfortable and has nice handle. The quality itself seems great and had no issues
