The description says that it's a metal butterfly feather, but it's a very rare species of an old eagle that was fossilized. No eagles were harmed making this pen. I would hate to see a butterfly with a wing like this. It would be scary. And inhumane. Butterfly's are our friends and they pollinate the flowers. They sometimes carry fairies on their backs. I don't think a fary could hold up on the back of an eagle. The eagle would probably eat them. Butterfly's are harmless creatures. If you stand in you yard and hold out your hand, dragonflies will land on it. Try it. Dragonflies are harmless too, unless they bite you. I hate pulling them out of my grill cause they are so big. I have a sticker on my Prius that says will swerve for butterflies. But the pen writes nicely. I haven't used it yet. It has a very elegant look to it and will bring many wonderful memories of butterflies, eagles, and dragonflies to come.

Bought it as a gift and the recipient loves it! I still hear from them about how much they love it here and there months later.

It's quite disappointing when sellers market their products as "hand made." This product is from a factory outlet made in China. The chain was broken upon arrival which did not take long to fix, however the painted gold looks extremely cheap, an item from the dollar store. It might be worth to spend a little bit more and find something that will last longer.

Lovely book marks. Looks really nice. I did not realise that the one that was slightly cheaper did not have a butterfly on it. A bit disappointed with that because it was my favourite colour. Still happy with the purchase

I would not recommend this product as it broke the first time I used it and it is made out of cheap crap and extremely flimsy and highly expensive it should not be more than one or two dollars it was a complete rip-off
