Great Value
This is my first ball vise. I've never used any others so I have nothing to compare it too. But so far it's doing very well! Definitely recommend for beginners until it's time to upgrade!

Best Bang for the Buck
Let me begin by saying that for the price, you can’t beat this one. I wish it came with better instructions so I knew what some of the attachments were for. I wish it had a locking base but otherwise, it’s great. It is well machined, smooth to operate and does what it should at a fraction of the price of the more well known jewelry tool companies.

Ring holders....
The ring clamp pins don't stay in. The pins that slide into the holes are short and not thick enough and the "ring clamps" pop out. So I did some modification. I cut those bad boys off...drilled holes where the previous pins were. I had a drill bit break off off, which is why one of the holes isn't an original. I cut pins from those extra allen wreches ya don't know what to do with. Measured and cut them to the correct length. I had to sand a little bit of the allen wrench pin for it to fit into the holes of the ball vice (very little). Used 2 part-5 minute set epoxy...and BAM! PERFECT! I hope this info helps you. I am glad I got this. Totally worth the money if you have the skills to modify. I assume you do if you want a ball vice...

I was not expecting such high quality
GRS is definitely going to be better. But I really don’t have any thing to complain about this ball vise. The threads could be smoother and the jaws could be finished better. If you’re a craftsman with a few tools these are things that can be cleaned up and then you have a great tool.Bad new! Well maybe for GRS. I have been using this ball vise for months; and I have made a few modifications that were relatively simple and quick. Bad news is I got a GRS micro block and put it back in the box unused. See, the finish of was slippery and I still had the same problems as the less expensive tool. The accessories fit with no modifications, but once again these were easy modifications or just cleaning the stuff you gets passes over in certain manufacturing facilities. Overall, I have found the GRS micro block to be over priced about $400-500. After the fine tuning of the less expensive tool I feel it’s more tailored just to me.
