Great product, awesome service and quality - Not the cheapest, but one of the BEST
Service: It was ordered on a Saturday and it was delivered 11am Sunday - that is why you should continue to align with Amazon fulfillment - unreal service I could not have gotten online anywhere else. Email communications and the instructional video were on point...great knowing that they care about my satisfaction - saying it means nothing, but "doing it" does...Culinary Obsession nailed it. And really, and issues? "Just reply to this email" - instead of making me go to another site, log in, etc." AWESOME...easy for me and that is what most companies miss.Product: Packaged well. Opened it up and was impressed with the quality of the materials based on the way they "looked." Watched the video, read the instructions. 4 DULL knives that literally had rounded edges - this stone NAILED it. Never knew how to sharpen properly before and even without using the alignment tool, I was able to get a sharp edge on my "made in China" stainless knives. Had 2 made in Japan stainless steel knives that were much thicker/harder and honestly, I probably could have used a 400 stone to start with, but I just used the 1000 for a longer time and then switched to the 6000. I got a sharp edge, not as sharp as the others, but I could have if I kept sharpening. That steel was hard as a brick, so I figure I would sharpen those knives fairly frequently and get them to the next level over time, versus spending a lot of time on them. They cut fine now, just not as perfect a sharpening as the other softer/thinner steel.Overall: VERY impressed with 24 hour delivery, even on a Sunday. My wife did not know I sharpened the knives (they have not been sharpened since we bought them in 2000), and took one cut while she was making dinner and looked confused. I asked her what was wrong and she looked at the knife and said, "did you sharpen this? It is cutting through this raw chicken skin with no effort and normally I have to fight it." Verdict - we were both VERY impressed! Thanks for a great product and service...wish I bought this, oh, about 16 years ago!

Use it properly and you'll feel like you wielding a lightsaber.
This whetstone is AMAZING and my first whetstone purchase. I expected a low quality starter whetstone due to the price but later learned that aluminum oxide whetstone is supposed to be a pretty good material with only natural important Japanese stone being better. So I suppose it's pretty good?I was so frustrated with my old knife that it couldn't even cut leek properly. It felt like using a chainsaw on wood and when I cut to the bottom, the last sheet of the leek wouldn't even cut! So I finally decided to purchase a whetstone after watching some Gordon Ramsey videos about how those V shaped knife sharpeners destroy the knife.Spent 5 minutes sharpening it on the 1k side then the 6k. The first time I did it I used too much pressure and actually cut a bit of the 6k side off. Bummed me out since I thought I might've messed the stone up. The blade wasn't even improved much when I tried a cutting test. The second time I had much more patience. Paid real close attention to the angle and patiently with light pressure sharpened each side on the 1k until I could feel this weird "hook" before I switch side. Then moved on to the 6k and this time light, even pressure across the blade and no chipping happened on the whetstone. The result? Oh my lord. You know that episode of Rick and Morty where Morty feels true level and moans in pleasure? That's how I felt. I did a cut test with a tomato and I didn't have to apply any pressure at all. I just pulled my knife back and gravity did the rest. The smoothness of the cut was unreal. I have NEVER used a knife this sharp because I had always used my parents' dull knives growing up.I just want to cut things now. Tomatoes, celery, apples, raw chicken? It's amazing. Absolutely amazing. It does take a bit of skill and I'm far from experienced but I have tasted fruit and I'm never going back to dull knives.

Works well but has a learning curve.
I purchased the Whetstone Knife Sharpening Stone a few weeks ago because most of my kitchen knives had become dull over time and after seeing some restaurant documentaries in which many high-end restaurants seemed to be using these to great effect, I thought I would give them a try. There is a slight learning curve in maintaining the right amount of pressure to apply to the knife and the angle at which it should be swept across the stone, so as to achieve a sharp edge while not taking too much off of the blade itself. I think I was a bit overagressive on my first try and ended up chipping my pairing knife from the edge of the stone. This stone does a really good job rejuvenating dull knives, I just think I could have done with an in-depth tutorial beforehand.I'm not sure if the Whetstone is made for serrated knives as well, because I found it difficult to sharpen my bread knife. That being said, the stone sharpens most knives quite well if you can learn a proper technique.

Superb Product
All of the Pieces arrived perfectly. The shipment traveled abroad and still arrived in a short amount of time. I know some reviews mentioned that some of the items in this package were unnecessary; however, I think a great deal of thought went into assembling this set. The stone fits nicely in the rubber grommet, then when installed in the non slip bamboo holder, the kit is extremely functional. I have never used stones with their own holders and this made the honing quick and efficient.I did not use the Knife angle adapter as I never have and do not have any plans to use it in the future. I do believe this device will aid the beginner in acquiring the correct angle.Well worth my money!
