I had this same issue, but figured out a trick to the assembly.A little background - assembly is basically two steps. The first step involves attaching the legs to the lower shelf using one bolt per leg. The second step involves attaching the seat to the top of the legs, again using one bolt per leg.In step 1, the instructions tell you to attach the legs to the lower shelf, and then to tighten the bolts. In my experience this led to hole alignment issues when trying to attach the seat. Instead, I realized that if I kept the bolts loosened in step 1, I was able to move the legs and align the holes for the bolts in step 2.So to summarize, loosely put everything together first. Then go back and tighten all the bolts.

I bought two of these, and positioned them back to back to create a large cocktail ottoman. The color is exactly as expected, and a perfect match to our entertainment center. These benches are sturdy enough for seating, and comfortable as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this purchase to anyone.

Multipurpose furniture, be still my heart. So I have a crazy expensive bench Ottoman from pier one and this one is way more better it's comfortable the storage allows for a queen sized comforter and the bottom is great for shoes without looking cluttered. You can tell it's not real leather from the shine but it still looks expensive. All the stitching is well done and it was easy to assemble little stale box smell but disappeared within the hour.

This looks like piano chair with cushion on top. Cushion is fairly solid but not a flat surface to place coffee cup on top. Easy to assemble with straight enough instruction. I usually tighten screws only after all parts are in place, but one of leg was broken only with finger tight force. This part may already have hairline crack or female screw in the leg (i.e. bad part). Customer support however was excellent. They responded within 24 hours time window to my email request (provided product/part number, picture of broken part, shipping address etc) and sent me a replacement part within a week.

I don't write many reviews but I thought this products deserved one. I love shopping online but I usually know what I am going to get because I have seen it in person at some store and then buy it online or I know the quality of the product before I buy. It is almost impossible to find a storage ottoman in stores much less one that is the exact dimensions that you need. I took a chance on this one and was a very happy camper when it arrived. It is very sturdy and has a great latch that stays open when you open the storage area. It was very easy to put together, they provide an allen wrench and screws. You attach the legs to the shelf and then attach the ottoman to the legs and that is it. The quality is excellent, especially for the price. It looks much more expensive than it is. The color is a true black. The tufted cushion is nice and just firm enough to be comfortable on your feet. I am using it at an ottoman in front of my loveseat and it is the perfect height and length. I fit my 17 inch laptops in it with room to spare. It would also be great if you have a entryway to sit down and put on your shoes and store your shoes on the shelf when you get home. Overall, I would recommend this product and I am very satisfied. It was exactly what I was looking for.

LOVE, LOVE this bench! I searched several months for a storage bench for my laundry room (entrance to garage). The reason the search took a long time is I wanted a bench that I did not have to assemble. However is some assemble require, however in less than 20 minutes, you can put this together (screw legs on to bottom shelf, then 4 screws to attach bottom shelf with legs to storage compartment). It has a rich brown leather looking cushion, storage area is generous. Very sturdy. I am able to fit 5 pairs of shoes on the bottom shelf. BTW, 2 pairs are men's size 13. I'm glad I purchased this item (P.S. this was an offering during the lightning sale!)

Answering the majority of complaints is that if you do find it wobbly like we did then just tighten it!! Once you do this thing is made strongly. It’s a beautiful looking bench that has decent amount of storage too. I would say that a good price point for it would be $110.

This piece is nicely put together and very simple to assemble. We have a rather narrow living room and we were looking for something not too wide for the room. The height and length seems to fit perfectly for a normal 86 inch long couch. It also can be used as a bench should we ever want to utilize it in that fashion.

This is gorgeous! Easy to put together. Worth the wait! I just put it together by myself. Took others advice and didn’t tighten anything up until the end. Love it!

Perfect for sitting on when putting on shoes / boots. We store dog leashes, gloves and knit caps in the storage section and there's still room left. The material isn't leather but isn't cheap looking either. It's a nice rich espresso with a black wood base and looks great in our entry way. We've received many compliments for this piece.

Really handy bench - it was very easy to assemble. The storage area isn't super deep, but is perfect for our gloves, scarves, and other winter wear. The combination of storage and shoe rack is very convenient and it makes for a perfect place to sit while putting on your shoes.

Just received an order , looks good my only problem that one leg came without nut, my wife really like this ottoman and it's taking to long to send it back and order new one so guys if you can to send me a nut I will definitely rise the rating for now I just moved one from the top side of the leg

Exactly what I wanted for the intended space. Arrived quickly, even before they said it would. Have patience in assemblying, line the bolt holes up carefully and be sure the bolts thread correctly. Don't force them or you'll strip the threads. If they're not screwing in nicely, back off and re-align.
