I’ve had aquariums for more than 20 years. I’ve been using those long handled aquarium scrub brushes for years. I really didn’t enjoy cleaning my aquarium glass. The scrub brush didn’t do that great of a job and it dripped water everywhere. Plus it was a pain to store. Then I was watching a fish keeping video on YouTube and saw the Flipper. It looked so much more effective and easier to use/store than what I had been using. I bought one for my 36 gallon bow front aquarium. It seemed a little pricey for a glass scrubber but after using it for awhile, it’s worth every penny! I initially had a difficult time figuring out what the written directions meant but that might just be me. I was able to find a YouTube video that explained what was meant by rotating the handheld part to get the scrubber part inside my aquarium to flip. After that it was super easy to use. I store mine inside my tank which is convenient. The razor side does an excellent job at removing those little specks of algae that stubbornly stick to the glass the scrubber part removed biofilm easily. The magnet is strong and I’ve never had the part inside my tank float away. My glass has never been so clean! I liked it so much that I put a smaller version for my 10 gallon tank on my Wishlist and got it for Christmas. I really wished I had learned about the Flipper sooner. It’s a much better way to clean the glass than what I had been using.

I use this on my saltwater and freshwater aquariums and it doesnt scratch the glass, and clears the algae and snail eggs real well. I would say this is a keeper. I would recommend this, easy to use and glides smoothly across the glass. Works well.

It’s a great item and will clean anything you need BUT…1st this thing is HUGE. It really needs a body builder to move it around. If you have any movement or strength issues, get the smaller one.The magnets are very strong. Flipping it per the instructions takes a little practice. The will smash fingers if your not carefull

Just received this and wow I am amazed on how well this cleans the glass. The blade really gets the stubborn alage off of the glass. I used to use mag float and would need to do several passes but with this only one pass and the algae is gone. I highly recommend it.

The media could not be loaded. Have tried a few different mag cleaners. With that being said this blows them all away. Very easy to use. Glides smooth on glass very easy to go from panel to panel, Easy to flip to either pad or scraper. It has plenty of magnet strength to scrape with.Others have talked about it scratching glass, You have to be mindful with using any magnet cleaner and make sure you don’t get close to sand bed with the pad and accidentally pick up some sand. I only use the pad side 4” from bottom and up. I use the scraper to clean down to sand bed.Definitely worth the money and will be buying another for my smaller reef tank.

Would give it 6 stars if I could

This may not be too different from most other magnet scrapers but, the sleek features and marketing don’t matter more than the fact it just doesn’t scrape algae that well. Normal diatoms/brown film algae on my glass is not 100% removed when using this piece of equipment.
