This butter dish is exactly as expected, with a beechwood lid and silicone gasket. The measurements claimed by the seller are accurate. The turquoise color tends toward the bluish end of the spectrum rather than the greenish (more cyan, not so much sea green). The ceramic quality seems good—no "burrs", no pits, no glaring imperfections in the glaze. I was concerned about mail-ordering and delivery, with risk of cracking or breakage; however, the corrugated cardboard packaging was sturdier than expected and did a good job protecting the dish in transit.The best part is that this butter dish not only fits "East-coast" and "West-coast" butter sticks (really? even though Oregon's Tillamook have changed their sticks to "East-coast" dimensions?), but it *also* fits Euro-style 8-ounce butter, like Kerrygold, which is what I wanted it for; the fit is perfect, not too snug, not too spacious.As for the lid, make sure the gasket is seated properly (there is no lip to hold the gasket in place, it's held only by stretch and friction), and follow the instructions in the Amazon listing—first press one end, then the other. When seating the second end, press at a slight angle toward the other, already seated end, and that will make a reliable "burp" and seal.I like the ridged design of this dish; that makes it easy to pick up without it slipping out of buttery fingers.The only thing I wish was different is that the base of the dish has an unglazed rim on the bottom of the base, which makes it easy to scratch surfaces you set it on. It needs small cork or silicone feet to avoid that; those are, however, generally available at a local hardware store, and it's pretty much the same as any ceramic coffee mug, so, no stars taken off for that.So far, quite satisfactory.

The DOWAN Porcelain Butter Dish is a fantastic addition to my kitchen. It looks really good and fits the aesthetic of my kitchen. The dish is spacious enough to hold multiple sticks of butter or a single wide stick, which is very convenient. So far, it has been great in terms of functionality and design. I am very satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish and practical butter dish.

This is really a wonderful butter dish. It's well made, beautiful color, seals decisively, has a great bamboo lid, and came packaged VERY nicely in a box that protected it!!It's heavy duty, not going to be easily opened or knocked off the counter by, say, an overly inquisitive cat! ;)My only issue is actually with previous buyers/reviewers: this dish will NOT, I repeat...NOT...hold a 1# block of butter. Not in any way, shape, or form!!I don't think it could hold that much even if you melted it into it. Not & be able to put the lid on!It ONLY holds 2 sticks at a time, comfortably. That's HALF of a pound, y'all. NOT a pound!I was specifically looking for one that would accommodate a 1# block. Several reviews said that it would.Ok, caveat to that...it will HOLD the block, but you will not be able to put the lid on & seal it, to protect it from unwanted taste testing by passing whiskered gourmands! 🐈🐈‍⬛So. Great dish!! 👍Sub-par reviewer info! 👎Will make do, & appreciate it for the very nice dish that it is!! 🙂

The media could not be loaded. This butter dish is everything I hoped it would be. A lot of people complain that the lid doesn't seal and whatnot, but I personally don't want to struggle with a tight lid and this lid works well the way it is. We keep this dish on the counter because we use butter A LOT in this house and it's always perfectly soft in this dish. We even left on a trip for 3 weeks and the butter that was in it was still good! I only buy European butter with at least 100mg of sodium, so that may also be helping to keep the butter safe to eat even after long periods.

I love this ceramic&bamboo container. I currently use it as a butter dish; it reduces the residual butter mess considerably compared to traditional butter dishes. I like that I can use it for alternate storage as well(ex. Tea bags, jam, table condiments, bathroom swabs or flossers, really an endless list of items to contain). The ribbed border adds ease of holding, it cleans easily, it's solid&sturdy, and I like the simple look. My only dislike is that the bamboo lid came w/ two minor cracks; hoping it will hold up over time. If not, the bottom dish can still be used to cook with. I'd buy more.

Good color.. size is good too... definitely do not like the wood lid.. but I'm dealing with it..cause i like the rest.. should ve been stainless or black.. not bamboo?? I'll still give it 5 stars.. not to bad to clean. Price ok.. way better than those French ones with the water??

This is attractive, well made and a really good size. A fresh Amish butter roll almost fits with the lid but not quite. You need a spatula to smush it in but it still does not quite fit. I don't get the reviews slamming the seal. The seal is actually too good. You need two hands to open. I will probably take an Exacto knife and cut back the first of two seal lips. It does not need to be watertight. My countertop is way more squared away now.

I was so tired of cleaning my pretty Fiesta ceramic butter dish. It matched my dishes and looked so nice sitting on the counter with one exception! It had to be cleaned after every use, because butter was smeared on the inside of the lid, and all around the edges. This pretty dish not only holds up to 3 full sized sticks of butter, the lid stays clean and so does the outside of the dish. It's made of a heavy ceramic with a very nice, well fitted lid. The lid does not just lay on top of the dish like some I saw, it seals with a slight push. The white finish goes with everything, and looks so cute on the countertop.

Very simple design and solidly made. At first I thought the lid didn't fit properly but noticed the silicone seal is removable and had shifted. Once adjusted, it fit perfectly. Canadian butter bricks don't quite fit but I never place a full brick in the dish at a time.

Love the porcelain weight of it. The 3 little strips and the rounded corners are lovely. Love the airtight cover. Note that it is not big enough for a hole pound of butter. I am very happy with my purchase.

This butter dish is the perfect color accent for my kitchen and a large size so you're not filling it up all the time. It's super easy to clean and the rubber ring can be removed to clean well also. The only thing I don't like about the dish is, living in Canada our full blocks of butter is too tall for this dish without taking a knife and squishing it down and to the sides so that the lid can fit on without hitting the butter. All and all its a bit of an inconvenience but happy with the color and quality of the dish. Recommend for that.

Lovely container for looks but does not fit a standard 454g block of butter (east coast Canada). Not deep enough. I had to cut the butter up into chunks in order to get most (not all) of it into the container. Lid also tends to pop up slightly so I'm not sure about the ' air tight' claim. The bottom of the container is also rough on the edges and will leave scratches on your countertop if you slide it. Too bad because I really liked the look of it.
