Guard'n'Lock - Garden Hose Bibb Faucet Valve Lock - For Handle or Discharge End Water Security

This product was a necessity for me. it has been so hot recently that I have needed to water my vegetables several times a day. Watching me water the plants is just reminding my kids that the hose is there. Everyday I go out and find the hose on, even when they aren't actually playing with it. Talk about wasted water! So, I needed a way to lock them out but that didn't require me to take the hose off and replace it every time. This fit the bill just right.The product arrived and the instructions were fairly easy. The only part I has minor issue on was that I have a square post and the teardrop adapter was already installed into the threaded adapter. I didn't realize that it had two different sizes of square holes based on which side you used. It took me a few attempts before I finally took that piece out and figured it out. Even without that setback, it only took 5 minutes start to finish.Love that the keys are magnetic- the fuss box to our AC is right next to the hose bib so I can keep one stuck there and handy. Also, the key and handle both have the number printed all them which I assume will help if you need to order a new key. At the same time, it seems that it might also make it easy for a thieving neighbor to order their own key too...I haven't had much time to see how well it works (or how long it will take my kids to figure it out) but I will update my review once we use it a little longer.

The product says that it is universal, but it isn't. It didn't fit over our round stem at all. When I contacted the manufacturer of the actual product, I was told by the representative that this item rarely works well on a round stem. Be warned when purchasing, this company makes you pay postage for the return.

Easy to install and works exactly as advertised. Don't know what more you could expect.

UPDATE: This will not work on a round stem. We contacted the seller and received a prompt refund. We do appreciate good customer service. However, I believe the product description needs to make it clear that this item will not work on a round stem. Other than that this appears to be a good quality product and would do the intended job of securing your faucets.
