Amazon Basics 16-Inch Heavy-Duty, Shock-Resistant Aluminum Alloy Magnetic Spirit Level with Adjustable Carrying Bag

I purchased this item because it was on sale, wasn't expecting much since it was amazon house brand and the fact I am a person knows a lot about tools and a professional contractor. I am impressed with the quality, it compares to my other levels, Swanson etc. I would buy again and recommend to a friend home owner or contractor.

I ordered the level when it was on sale for 9 dollars. The one I received was defective, but they replaced it. The level is very nice, a steel at 9 dollars, but I don't think it's worth the current $67.97 price.

The media could not be loaded.  It's not expensive. It works just fine. I wish the bubble was larger and the diameter of the tube was also larger. I also would like the fluid to be more "retaining" or "more viscous". It's like the fluid may be lighter than water, such as in organic solvent. Now, I haven't opened it up, nor do I ever intend to. But, organic solvents like paint thinners are sometimes used in these types of applications. But, likely because it's cheaper.I compared it to a name brand much more expensive 4ft level (orange in picture), and it reads just fine in line with the more expensive one. I love it because it's small enough for me to use on small jobs. I'm not building the Eiffel tower here, so it meets my needs just fine around the house.YES, I would recommend to buy again. Especially for the price!

I am a cabinet installer and I need a smaller level for smaller cabinets like this one because it fits in my hand nicely and it doesn't get lost also the bubbles are ez to read .

Just the right size for about any job. The case is a nice touch also.

I needed a short level. This fit the bill. Works fine.

Really pleased with this level to be honest I was looking at other more expensive brands as I’m an engineer and being magnetic was a telling factor in selecting this level. Now that I have used the level I was amazed at the build quality, weight and robustness of this item. I was actually hesitant in buying this level because it was not an American or German brand (I don’t want to name the brands), but I’m glad I did. I don’t see any reason why not to purchase this level especially at this price.

The spirit level comes in a nice, neat storage case/carry bag. The bag has a single, adjustable webbing strap that’s plenty large enough to go over one shoulder should you wish to free up a hand. The bag unzips at one end only – but the zip is generous in relation to the size of the spirit level, so it slides in and out easily.The level itself is well-made and sturdy-feeling, with textured edges to help prevent slipping. The aluminium is lightweight, but tough; and the liquid vials clear and easy to read. Bright yellow paintwork makes this tool easy to see.Perhaps a bit overpackaged: in addition to the cardboard ‘frustration free’ outer box, the level itself was shrink-wrapped inside its carry case. At the time of writing the price of just under eighteen pounds feels a bit punchy compared to some brand name levels, even with the case.

The media could not be loaded.  I've got through many a spirit levels in my time. I generally break them due to dropping the things. Well this spirit level is advertised as 'Heavy Duty' so the first thing I did was drop it from 8ft onto concrete a few times. The result? Its's still in one piece and so are the vials!The spirit level feels well made and looks strong. Each end has rubber impact sections which also acts as non slip grips. On the side are 2 strong magnets. I don't deal with metalwork but I can see the advantage of having these magnets to hold the level in place. The aluminium edging is grooved to help prevent slipping. There are hanging holes either end.The vials are accurate as I've compared this to my own rather expensive one. The air bubbles never separated when I dropped this spirit level, which has happened on my previously owned levels which is very annoying.So for £15.99 its worth buying, yes you can buy cheaper but they don't last, this one will.

This is one excellent spirit level, it has all of the features you might need from the spirit level, such as three vials for measuring the angles horizontally, vertically, and on a side, the textured tough aluminium frame, rubber end-caps, two magnets for securing the level against metal surfaces, and a carrying bag for taking care of your level if you care about such things.The accuracy is very good, I have tested it against the smartphone and to the best of my abilities I would say it is accurate enough for most jobs. If you need more precision, in that case, I would suggest laser levels.I love the magnet it makes it so convenient to store away on the storage shelve, if your storage shelf is not magnetic, it does have two holes for hanging. This is the first time around I came across the textured edge spirit level, it is quite a nifty feature as it helps to secure the level to the surface so the level does not shift while marking the surface, however, it is abrasive, meaning if you do not want to damage the surface you shouldn't push hard against it, or simply use a different spirit level.In my opinion, 40 cm length is ideal for quick and easy measurement and should be sufficient for most DIY tasks, for construction it is also excellent for the narrow spaces and surfaces that are smaller and fine adjustment is needed.Overall, this is one sturdy, feature-rich and a quite practical spirit level and I would recommend it.
