Good Scope Cover
Butler Creek makes a good product. These covers fit perfectly on an old Redfield 4x scope. I measured the outside diameter with a caliper. if you don't have a caliper set the eyepiece then the objective lens face down on a good ruler that gives both inches and millimeters. Take the readings and match them to the scope cover size chart on the Butler Creek web sight. If your measurement is in between sizes, then get the size slightly smaller than your measurement this will give a nice tight secure fit. They both work well easy to open and close. I don't know how well they'll work in very cold, or snowy weather. I just know they work well in the Desert climate that I live in. A good scope cover for the price. I'm more than happy for now.

Great protection, fast and quiet opening
Butler Creek has been making these things forever and has it figured out. Fits tight, flips up reliably, no fidgety lever to break, jam, or snag on things. I've used the "eyepiece" version too and just don't see any reason for it, though the little push-to-release lever is neat, it's a liability and for hunting duty in brush and timber, simpler is better.Using on a CVA Wolf .50 cal muzzleloader mounted to the outstanding Bushnell Banner "Dusk to Dawn" 1.75-4x32 riflescope.

THE BEST AVAILABLE AT THE PRICE
I've used these Butler Creeks scope covers for over 20 years - the OBJECTIVE covers for both the scope Objective and Ocular lens. HINT - I use the Objective cover on the Ocular scope end because the Ocular (Eye?) covers having the red thumb-activated cover-releasing device is fragile, brush-attracting and unnecessary. Given careful measurement, an Objective cover can be found for most Ocular lens ends, and the Objective covers I've found are simpler, stronger and longer-lasting. 'NOTHER HINT - I carefully cover with good electrical tape the ends of the pin connecting the flip-up cover to its "A-frame"; this prevents the pin sliding from its hole (as I've experienced twice) and losing it in snow/dirt/whatever. I've given this cover only 4 stars rather than 5 because of the aforementioned occasional tendency of the pin to loosen. Forgive my verbosity in this critique, but given these scope covers' ubiquitous use, it was difficult to believe no one had previously posted evaluations/suggestions for these inexpensive, but quality accessories for frequently extremely optics. Mine's only a Vari-3 2.5 x 8 Leopold, but Butler Creeks have protected it for almost 25 years, many of which were on Kodiak.

Good produy
Used a 13 and 15 on a Leupold vx2 2-7 33mm. Been to the shooting range probably a dozen times and spent over 5 weeks hunting in the woods flipping then up and down constantly. Eventually wore out the spring and they dont flip up on their own, but still stay open once pushed all the way. Cheap enough i got my moneys worth out of them

As long as you buy proper size they work great. The soaking in hot water idea was also great if they are a tight fit. Mine pushed tightly pushed right on. Love them they flip and work great.

Why so much?
Product is good, maybe a little over priced for what it is. Years ago had nice ones from Quacker boy with a see through yellow lens as well as a cap. Can’t find em anymore so these will have to do. Small price to protect you investment.
