Pelican1720 3 Piece convoluted Foam Set

I have an older Browning Gun Vault (Pelican 1700) and a Plano Case. Both had the pick & pluck foam, which is good if you want to use the cases for just one rifle. I bought a pack of this foam and replaced the middle layer pick & pluck foam in both cases with this convoluted foam. I like the way this foam works better than the pluck & pick; I can use these two cases for different rifles now. The rifles sIt tightly in the cases w/o moving around. Unfortunately, I bought the 1720 size when I really needed the 1700 size. It was no big deal, I just trimmed it down with a sharp knife. The foam from this company is more reasonable than buying new foam from Pelican. I would definitely recommend buying this foam.

I just bought a new Pelican 1720 case for a brand new rifle. I received the new inserts and put them in (You get 3 in the box - 2 eggshell inserts and a half width insert). I put them all in the case and my brand new rifle would move inside the case if I dropped it about a foot off the floor! So, all your nice and expensive goodies will be banging upon each other if the case drops or is banged hard on something. What I did was remove the half sized insert they sold me and put the full sized one I had from the case back into the rifle case, so the rifle sits up higher. I closed the lid and it was much more solid in the case.For the price they charge, it should hold your guns like a vise. I think the pick and pluck is a better option.

This product was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to replace the foam in my Pelican 1720 case because I wanted to be able to carry multiple rifles with different accessories, rails, stocks, and barrel lengths. The original foam that comes with the case doesn't allow this as you have to cut the foam to a specific rifle. The foam shipped and arrived very fast and was exactly what I expected. The quality is perfect and I can't even tell a difference in the quality of the original foam and the replacement foam. The foam fit perfectly in the case. I can definitely recommend this product and every other product from this seller.

Much better than the pick & pluck foam that comes stock with the Pelican 1720. The great thing about this convoluted foam set, is that you can put any gun combination in the case. No customization necessary. Even if the case is jarred rather harshly, your firearms don't move.I don't know why Pelican doesn't use this as their OEM foam.

So was skeptical replacing my JP insert that came with the jp rifle for this foam set. So, the JP insert that came with the rifle is a great fit. I had to modify it for the scope to fit in my Pelican case. But i would not be able to do this for the light and bi pod. I tried this foam set and was able to attach everything i stated with ease. It does not move one bit fits snug and you do not have to worry about screwing lights, bi pods etc at the range. Leave it attach and close the case period !
