Condensing Unit Protective Cover / Lid Size Large 30" Across

I installed this after my AC guy mentioned it. My AC unit fills with leaves and is a pain to clean.I installed this a couple of months ago and it's worked well. No more leaves and it's attached well.I attached some foam I had laying around to the edge with some caulk to quiet the drop, but it wasn't bothering anyone.AC's are expensive, and the leaves keep falling, so this feels like a good purchase for me.

Easy to install. Though each condensing unit has its own shape and specifics. Mine was such that to fit right over the fan the hinges hung over the back about 1/4 inch. I cleaned the surfaces well and the adhesive strips seemed to adhere well. Still, I drilled a small hole through each. Carefully, so as not to drill into the A/C unit, and installed a short screw in each hinge. For extra hold power over time. I have tried the A/C and the until raises and lowers as it should. Happy so far. Will see how it weathers over time.

I bought three Kool Kap lids from Grier Inc in May of this year and have had numerous issues with the product. I am not happy at all with these kool kap lids. First, the lids bang so loud on the top of the HVAC unit when the air cuts off that my neighbor next door could hear the noise and complained. I had to spend around $50 to order specialized foam tape to dampen the noise. Yesterday, I came home and noticed that one of the lids had completely fallen off the HVAC unit. This was due to the plastic hinges that were holding the lid down had come off and fallen in the dirt. Now the hinges won't stick to the unit and one of the lids is completely useless. I am frustrated to say the least since I spent nearly $500 on three lids + an extra $50 on foam tape to dampen the noise from when the lid closes and bangs on top of the metal cage of the HVAC Unit.I contacted Kool Kap corporate myself at their Office #: 800-878-6614 and the customer service rep was extremely unhelpful. I explained the issues that I have had with the kaps and all she could say was that I could purchase more hinges from them and pay for shipping costs as well for around $20. Not happy at all with Kool Kap Corporate office.From a customer perspective after spending $500 on three of their lids + an additional $50 for thick foam tape to dampen the loud noise from the Kaps banging on top of the HVAC unit when the air cuts off, and yesterday I discovered the hinges that hold the lid to the on of the units had completely fallen off after only three months of use, to say I am dissatisfied is an understatement. I would not recommend buying these Kool Kap lids, and to discover how unhelpful the corporate office in New Jersey was in handling the issue, I have to give this product a one star rating.

This is a good item with a practical and efficient purpose. If your condensing unit has any proximity to trees, shrubs or any other items that could find their way into the bottom of the unit, etc one of these. IT WORKS!

This was for a new unit which was under an oak tree. I'd seen a Kool Kap previously and knew it would prevent leaves from clogging up the compressor unit. However despite following directions the hinges only stayed adhered for less than a week. I solved the problem with some self drilling screws however be very sure that you don't screw into the cooling coil. The product works fine but for a simple molded piece of thin plastic it's priced absurdly above costs. The only justification for the price is the utility of keeping leaves out of the unit.
