Great Color, but Doesn't Last more than 20 minutes, and Requires Bright Lighting
The media could not be loaded. I ordered both this (Brew Glitter silver, left) and the Snowy River silver (right) to compare them. For that reason, this review will be very similar to the one I wrote for Snowy River. Although it's a tiny container, you really don't use much per drink.I added roughly 1/8 of a teaspoon (I marked a 1/4 teaspoon at the halfway mark) of both to the bottom of the glass and then added one of my favorite drinks: Martini & Rossi Asti, which is a sweet Italian sparkling wine. This turned out to be a mistake, as they caused a great deal of bubbling. After the tests below, I added both to the control glass, and confirmed there was very little bubbling. In the future, I will add them after pouring the drink, and I definitely recommend you do the same.I took pictures right after stirring, and then again 5 minutes later. I then did a taste test. After that, I also took a short video of me picking up and swirling both glasses.Appearance-wise, I preferred the Brew Glitter. It was more silver, whereas the Snowy River seemed more white. After the 5-minute mark, the Brew Glitter was still swirling around, while the Snowy River was relatively still. However, this also meant that the Snowy River did not settle to the bottom of the glass even after 20 minutes, while the Brew Glitter did (not pictured, sorry, but you can tell that it has settled slightly in the video). For that reason, I'd recommend the Brew Glitter for people who drink relatively fast, but the Snowy River for people who drink more slowly.Taste-wise, they had roughly the same effect: they made the Drink slightly sweeter, but with a sharper finish. Both drinks require bright lighting to get the full effect. If your event will be in dim lighting, you probably won't think much of either. As far as packaging goes, the Snowy River was much better. It came in a padded envelope with a professional advertising card. The Brew Glitter came in a plain white box filled with paper. It felt more like a mom-and-pop operation than a company. A sticker on the box or a postcard inside would improve this.Personally, my preference is for the Brew Glitter. Although it settled after 20 minutes, I rarely take that long to finish a drink, and I preferred both the color and the swirling effect. However, you might have different preferences.
